Gerry Gutierrez' Update

Covered in the deep deep love of Jesus.

This sounds new but it is as old as walking on foot.

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”

1 Peter 4:8

There is no virtue in exposing the weakness of a brother.

There is a shortage of the deep deep kind of love that overlooks an offense.

It seems to me that man as a vulture is looking for the first sign of weakness in his fellow man to come down and focus on tearing him apart.

Meanwhile, Jesus knew full well of our sins. When we were yet sinners, he came, and in his deep deep love he died for us.

When in need of the deepest kind of love I come in feeble strength stretching out my bow and arrow, I am vulnerable.

When I have stretched my bow and arrow, I am going to find out the miserable fool is broken. unreliable, leaving me defenseless, leaving me naked, leaving without pardon.

Yet, there is love. The deep, deep kind of love from the quiet and deep waters from where a man draws grace, compassion and generosity.

How noble, how worthy, how praise worthy Jesus is to step in front of an arrow destined for someone else.

Between danger and me to cover me when cover and protection is needed from Savior Jesus.

Oh, the deep, deep love of Jesus, how I need you.

Oh, the deep, deep love of a believer, how I need you to cover me with your righteousness.

I need you to blend with the crowds approaching the gates of heaven.

I need the angel at the gates of Heaven to step aside from his flaming sword to welcome me as if I was Jesus.

Cover me Jesus with your deep, deep love.
