Go and tell it to the mountains!

 

Apart from a spirit of service…

Apart from vocation…

Apart from vision …

Apart from a sense of mission…

Apart from all the reasons that one can think of to keep oneself busy…

 

The one main reason why we are in the service of the Lord is that we are under orders of the one and only sovereign of the universe and that is King Jesus.

Let it be known from the beginning that this is not a little side note of a writer making his point.

 

No!

It is of the utmost necessity that our minds capture the presence of the king of the universe, in Jesus. At the same time, Jesus is the most clear explanation in the midst of chaos, in the midst of violence, in the midst of darkness, in the midst of the loneliness, in the midst of everything that the universe is, so there is an orderly perfect God, who is king and he is dressed in perfection and order of the most precise kind.

 

Along with that comes the inescapable concept and idea of purpose and an infallible will to run his business.  

Not only Jesus is dressed in perfection but he is also invested with Power and Authority that without which there is no God. 

 

The pragmatic mind of modern men could have for convenience created the concept of Power and Authority, so as to manage his own ideas.

But such power and authority would be toothless and ineffective to bring law and order in the Universe.

But the God of Scripture is equipped with the Power and the Authority that comes from the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.

 

While at it you must not decapitate God from his attributes, such as omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence, which is part of his nature of power and authority.

It is he that in a thundering voice has spoken the order-to Go and Tell it in the Mountains and everywhere that he is and that he is author of the good-news to the glory of his own name
