Look
at the Lord for strength!
Seventy Seven years old is a good record of
looking unto the Lord for strength!
Most of my friends are gone at an earlier age
leaving me somewhat alone and abandoned.
If to live is Christ and to die is gain I should
see my long life as a blessing Either way.
While alive I have the opportunity to serve him who came as one
who serves.
For if I died now I shall never have another
opportunity to testify the love, grace, compassion of God to those for whom he
died.
I shall never again give a smile of
encouragement or a word of complement to a feeble believer struggling to
believe what he said to believe.
As is it, …I seem to be running on empty but still
with enough fight left in me to finish the good fight.
I say this in the light of some saints who have
already counted me out from the battlefield and are already sending greetings
to my wife and their favorite teachers and loved ones [who have passed].
I find many with unquenchable thirst longing for
me to dip my finger in water to touch their dry mouth in agony.
I love nothing more than looking to Jesus for
strength and talking to them about my dearly beloved Savior and his amazing
grace and love for me and them.
Those times are moments that I truly treasure. I treasure them
as if it was yesterday when I said “YES” for the first time to Jesus.
Those moments make me love life as a young lover
for his bride.
Once again I will say like a bullock in front of
the altar softly murmuring to my God.
“Here I stand in front of your altar ready to plow
or ready to be sacrificed. Ready for either dear Lord by your grace and
strength.”
“My strength comes from the Lord who made heaven
and earth.”
Pray for his timing on my life and pray that I
might be equally joyful with him who through life has been my guide and comfort.
