The Contribution of a believer to the collective faith of the day.

 

Ours is the religion of the Word and listening and speaking is of the utmost importance. The faith of Adam and Eve came from listening to God.

 

The training of their children clearly involved worship. The chief element of that worship was the pleasure and acceptance of God.

 

It was God’s pleasure or displeasure that divided man from men.

 

It would have been wise for a brother to follow the other brother in whom God’s favor rested. It would have been wise and honorable for the older to follow the younger and by doing so follow God and not self or men. The only common activity shared by our first brothers was worship and worship was used by one to plot against the other. Innocently the younger brother turned his back to the older in confidence.

 

Abel in faith exposed his helmetless head to Cain as he walked ahead and singing the Sunday School songs. Abel was then abruptly silenced to sing no more by a Merciless stroke of a mortal stroke on the head that turned off “His little light.” This was the way that “The First blood was spilled over the ground of the earth.”

The death of the innocent called for the second time the presence of “Our Father who art in Heaven.” No longer to find out where the brothers were in relationship to him in their vertical relationship but to ask Cain of the state of the union in relation to his horizontal relationship to his brother Abel.

Man indeed is totally responsible for his vertical and horizontal relationship before God and no other.

For Cain this was the time to confess and take advantage of the Gospel of repentance for the forgiveness of sin. Instead the hardness of heart of a sinner popped its ugly head in defiance and arrogance against God himself.

“Am I my brother’s keeper?” Yes! You are indeed your brother’s keeper!

Since then, this peaceful religion of loving words became the religion of blood for without it there is no forgiveness of sin. From this day forward the need of Jesus the true brother’s keeper would become absolutely indispensable for communion and communication. As curse and death came into the world so in the same way hope and life came in Jesus.

Teach your children the right worship in Spirit and truth by loving God and loving your brother. Learn by your personal devotion but teach your children by your prayer. “Our Father who are in Heaven, holy be your name.”

 

Might Jesus himself be incarnate in you until your children hear Jesus and no other and be inspired by you as well.
