The Absolute hidden in the Partial.

Partial knowledge. Jan 12, 2023,

Nothing like a knee-high wave on the seashore to have an idea of the sea.

For many years a friend of mine used to write me letters that signed off with the words: “Every man lives with partial knowledge.” Somehow, I found his words provocative perhaps because in my heart of hearts it challenged the belief in the Absolute, Eternal, and Infinite and perfect loving God was not enough.

My friend (RIP) was a clever businessman that was thought to be insightful.

What bothers me is that if you are going to bring a problem to my attention, you must suggest a solution to the problem or don’t talk about it at all. This reminds me of the Leo Iacocca Motto that says: “Lead, follow or get out of the way.”

My friend was not leading or following, nor was he getting out of the way.

At this stage of my life another friend of mine has challenged me to help our generations to understand the Spiritual world. I find myself increasingly satisfied that my faith in the unseen world is by taking Jesus at his word. This conviction in the invisible God is enough for me.

The beauty of God is so overwhelmingly important that there’s no room in my mind anymore for Byzantine discussions that have no beginning or end. I am a confessed and convicted Presuppositionalist that Faith is to presuppose that there is a God who is all together Good. I am not willing to go back to the Evidentialist bondage way of thinking that rests in Evidences and apologetics. To me, that would be like the dog going back to his vomit.

Most of humanity will die without having swum themselves in the middle of the Ocean but having tasted the pleasures of swimming comfortably on the white Sandy beach and enjoying knee-high waves.

It is All Right to have a bag of non-answer questions. In fact, most of life has answers that one needs but not one wants. Amazingly, I am about to make a statement to family and friends that I have no need to answer any questions.

The reason is very simple. If you make room for faith, faith does not need or want to question God. Faith just accepts it and that’s the reason scripture constantly emphasizes a childlike faith as something necessary to please God so that without it it’s impossible to please God and please self.

I will close by saying the words of Billy Graham when he said: “I cannot understand how a black cow eating green grass has white milk and I drink white milk and have red blood and blonde hair.”

Faith is contentment with the light of God revealed in our darkness that’s enough as a lamp to our feet and light in our path.

Let’s pray from the heart that God might give us our daily bread and nothing more but the portion of the manna from heaven for my needs today. Help me Lord to be satisfied with what I get from your hands and nothing more.

“I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.” Malachi 3:6.
