Gerry Gutierrez' Update
Theology for the Housewife, the little children and those who are of Childlike heart.
God
The Holy Spirit.
Truly truly, I say unto you, “let us be very careful:” We are talking about God. We are talking about a Holy God. We are talking about a God who is Spirit. God is light, love, and life and by nature we have to admit that his nature as the source of light is excessively bright. Man has been blinded by that nature.
God “Is” and “We are not.” God belongs to the Macrocosmic world. (Worlds infinitely large.) Man belongs to the Mesocosmic World (The world in between.) Before God man is Microscopic (That is the world infinitely small.)
Men at best are like earthworms without head or tails or all head and all tails dragging themselves in the brown dirt of earth sensing our way in search of the path of least resistance to make sense of our insignificance.
On the other hand, God is in the heavens of the heavens beyond the reach of my understanding let alone my senses. Therefore, we must grant God his holiness as one completely separated from anything small, anything visible, and anything material, and anything fragile, and anything temporal.
Apart from the distance of God in heaven and men on Earth, if we could by any stretch of the imagination make it to heaven to get to know God, “WE CANNOT,” It is because God is not only completely set apart in his Holiness but God is a spirit which practically speaking is invisible and belongs to the unseen world in absolute perfect loneliness.
Right from the start the impossibility of knowing and understanding God in human terms is not only inconceivable like for a worm as it is impossible to understand the Milky Way.
In order to try to understand ourselves before God we must accept our condition of inhabitants of the Mesocosmic world that is the world in between. We are not bacteria nor are we a galactic world, but something in between.
Our existence is that of an adolescent being which lacks identity, because we are not as great as Jupiter or Saturn, but we are not a miserable small Atom either. We are not too insignificant neither are we too large.
Existence is like a person in agony that is not alive nor is he dead. As agony is not life or death, so is the Mesocosmic existence of man who from where he is located is capable to look up to the heavens and to look down to the microscopic world.
Positively speaking the Mesocosmic world is the better of two worlds. It is a position of advantage with the possibility of knowing both the great and the small.
Jesus chose the Microcosmic world to become an earthworm like the rest of human beings for our sake in order to reveal himself to our senses. The great light of God reduces himself to a proper amount of light in Jesus so it is not too much or not too bright but just enough to see by faith the holy and separated infinite God.
Apart from revelation it is not only impossible to know God, it’s inconceivable. Let us accept our condition and try to look downwards and upwards and pray that the Lord might visit our minds and let the light of Jesus shine on us and make sight out of our Faith.
Let us look at the mud surrounding us and at the same time let us look up and cry out in the hope that God might hear us and come down to brings us out of the Mud and set our feet on the rock and establish our goings by putting a new song in our mouth that many will “SEE” and put their trust in the savior.
The light of God as well as the love of God and the life of God had to be incarnated in baby boy Jesus who was cut to size by visiting our world in human form and revealing himself for his glory and honor with great power. That is the Gospel.
Merry Christmas.
