Gerry Gutierrez' Update

I got a New Job from my ruling elder. I am on duty at 76.

I got a job!

Good Morning Gerry,

How about you writing a series of messages on the three persons of the Trinity. As Presbyterians I don’t think we speak, teach, nor write specifically about the Father nor the Holy Spirit as much as we should. For example we believe the Holy Spirit indwells us. So how does He work within us? Do we talk with and through the Holy Spirit? Please consider doing it.

I pray you had a good Christmas with all of your family. I did. I’m also praying you have the opportunity to visit Peru again soon. I plan to again make Archival data CDs of your web site at the first of the New Year.

Blessings

Paul Zitlau.

Dear Paul,

“God is Spirit.”

God the Father cannot be visible but through Jesus. Jesus cannot be in two places at the same time because he has been confined by choice and vocation to a reasonable body. But the Holy Spirit can be in the Father, in the Son and in every believer at the same time. God the Holy Spirit fills the whole Universe at the same time because he is omnipresent. “God is Spirit!”

You must believe this above all and it will keep you from the unforgivable sin. Your confidence in me by asking me this question has given me a bold relief to shoot from the hip. This letter is nothing but at 3:45 AM thoughts that the Lord has put in my mind which I’m quick to write before I forget them.

Nothing like the mind of men to illustrate the residence of the Holy Spirit. As a human being I try to explain to myself personally my eternal origin and nature. Before creation I was already in existence because I am an eternal being without beginning and without end. The question is where was I before creation? I was in the mind of God so that through his word one day I became a living being and I am what I am for a short time. That at death my spirit leaves the body and goes back to God and leaves the body in the dust from where it was taken.

Our body is precious to our head just as Jesus was precious to God the Father but in both cases the Holy Spirit is the one that we must deal with. How we do that is not by understanding that which is unexplainable but by accepting it in a childlike manner and that is called faith. (Take Jesus at his word.)

Faith is the direct work of the Holy Spirit whereby we trust, we believe, and we enjoy God in spirit and truth.

Dear Paul,

You have assigned me a monumental task the first of the year 2023 and I have taken this as a challenge for this year. I believe that it’s a sign from God to find me useful in this matter in spite of my health and I will be looking forward to a new lease on my life as I see things falling in place in Peru and the dialysis and all of the other details.

In other words, you have a giving me a good reason to live. So that I like a “sophomore” who is supposed to be “a wise fool” have accepted the challenge with the idea that “Why not?'' If I don’t do it, then, who”?

I thank your brother, you have made me feel useful once again, might the Lord bless you.

I thank you for calling this a series of writings on the Trinity. So, let’s just take this letter as an introduction and I will be daring to take another bite even if I might not be able to chew it.

I have my undercover boss, I have my family and I have my friends whom I love dearly. If this subject is in your mind, there must also be in their minds, so to answer your question will be answering the question of many in our generation.

Thank you so much for “my New Job”

Gerry Gutierrez.

Let us have a very happy New Year to the glory of God. This past week it was very hard that my undercover boss thought that it could be my sugar level so drastically down that I was at the edge of a Diabetic coma. Sure enough. It was low that when I cut my insulin in half I am feeling drastically better.

Pictures are of the shooting range competition. Ten bullets and ten points is not bad. Then a Colorful ;day in the Andes.
