Death like a vulture was almost visible flying over my head while I was becoming very impatient, irritable, rude and not much of a soldier with a good name. That was not the way I figured I was going to “kick the bucket.” To make matters worse my fellow followers of Jesus started departing to Heaven from their own Cape Canaveral . Starting with my wife Ruthie, My daughter Keila, my beloved  mentors and friends such as John Stott, Billy Graham, Doug Coe, Jimmy Crosby, Vladimir Paz de la Barra, Steven Smallman, and many others left me like a leafless tree in the Fall of my life.
Focusing on dying I forgot to live to the last minute firing my last bullet.
 
As the night had fallen in my so expected “Happy Spiritual Birthday #52 we were kicked out from the office of an Eye Doctor by some mean assistant that did not sympathize with my case or my wheelchair. We only had a few minutes to make it to the ear doctor…but had to climb the long steps to the office. My older sister and a friend literally dragged me upstairs to see the Doctor. As soon as I saw her beautiful face, her warm smile and was able to hear her kind and well educated words I melted like a stick of butter.

She said she was from Cuba and was a new Doctor in town and that she would love to know what brought me and see how she can help me. Instantly. she became my confessor and I became a Gigantic elephant’s ear to her words. Doctor Leon introduced a small camera into my ears and showed me on a large screen in detail the condition of my sick and painful ears. By the time she was through with me I knew enough about ears that I would brag as an ear doctor in some small tribe of the jungles of Peru.
