Gerry Gutierrez' Update

“God is crazy about you.”

God saved me just to show me how much he loves me and how happy he is with me. I love the idea of making God so happy that he sings songs in laughter on account of me.

“The Lord your God is with you. He is like a powerful soldier. He will save you. He will show how much he loves you and how happy he is with you. He will laugh and be happy about you,” Zephaniah 3:17.

In the world of hatred, rejection and envy, it sure is good to know that I am accepted by him. That counts and is like a strong Soldier next to me to encourage me and empower me by helping me to go forward, always forward, homeward, upwards, heavenward.

This is one of those verses over which one can say, “Too good to be truth.”

Nevertheless, it is true that God loves me and he is crazy happy about me as a trophy of his grace, which is the result of his mighty salvation thanks to Jesus, the Savior the lover of my soul.

Even if I would ignore the rest of the Scriptures… I can be lifted up by the strength of this verse and be secure like a ship in a stormy sea fearless to the waves with a solid anchor that keeps me steady.

What God thinks of me is more important than what the whole world thinks of me.

If God loves me as he does, I need nothing from anybody or anything.

God is not only like a soldier but he is a powerful Soldier able to save.

God is a happy Soldier, a singing soldier who laughs in happiness and he is the most powerful in the entire universe because he is Almighty.

Why should I fear anyone or anything? As the apostle says, “If God is with us, who can be against us?” No wonder why our loving Lord always says fear not, there is no reason to be afraid. I am with you always to the end of the ages.

Some Saints have presented God as an angry God but the one thing we must not forget is that he is angry with the sinners who refuse to repent but not with the redeemed. The redeemed causes him happiness, joy, laughter, singing and he is happy about his little sheep and nothing cuter than the baby sheep.

God sees us like I see little babies and toddlers whom I love dearly.

Tonight, I will go back to bed with a smile on my face with a comfort in my heart knowing that nobody can disturb the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

When a baby looks at me who has not spoken his or her first word yet, by the exchange is that brief look at each other and the subsequent smiles I can’t help it but to see my invisible God once again making himself visible in a baby, in a smile, in a “gugu and gaga, and the waving of the hands” in which no one can read anything but love of the purest kind.

Many times, I have heard from people thanking me for being there for them. Somehow those words had an effect on me of happiness, joy and satisfaction. In the same way when I hear God telling me in these verses that “I’m there for you. I’m happy with you and I will show you how much I love you by being with you every day of your life as a strong and powerful Soldier who happens to be your friend.

I am crazy about God.

P.S. The following letter is of my editor from Chicago. I include it because she understood my message and the intention of my words.

Gerry,

I now have a smile on my face and a song in my heart, knowing God is crazy about me and is here as my soldier. I added a few commas, maybe not necessary, and changed one word, “sheep.” I made “gugu” one word, also not really necessary.

Thanks for continuing to spread the good news!

 Love always,

 Susan.
