Hugeeessss!!

Jesus loves little children, crazy girls, colts and irregulars.

 

For one of those four reasons he loves me. I’m not a little boy, I am not a crazy girl, I am not a colt of a donkey but surely, I am an irregular of the Lord.

 

Jesus was not a cowboy, but he did ride “donkey one” on Palm Sunday.

Jesus says, “Let the little children come to me, for such as these is the kingdom of God.” There is one thing I’m like Jesus and that is my love for little children, toddlers all the way through 12 year olds.

I love to look at myself in the pupil of their eyes and enjoy the purity of an innocent look that inspires me to be just as pure as they think I am. Thank you little ones, God has not given up with humankind yet.

 

I love Sunday infant baptism services in our church and it’s a sight to see families seating for worship and prayer in reverence and respect. My love for little kids is from my Father’s side of the family. And my father got it from his Father.

 

I will never get over how Jesus when walking alone with his disciples all of a sudden start talking to himself… but actually talking to his Father: 

 

At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.  Matthew 11:25,26

 

I have tears in my eyes when I think of the good pleasure of God the Father who is partial to the little children and that Jesus was touched by that aspect of the father’s heart and burst out in praise to the Father. I gladly join Jesus in thanksgiving for loving my little ones and for those covenant children from all ages and generations.  

 

Isn't it great to be secure in God’s love that changes not?

How lovable, how tender, how sweet is Jesus who is our true ideal, powerful, perfect Father in Heaven. How could you not look forward to going home to such a loving Father in Heaven? Who like the Father of the Prodigal son waits with outstretched arms to embrace you in a no ending Hugeessss?

 

In the light of this loving God, I am asking you to stand up for the little children, just as our Lord stood up for you when you were a little child and ever sense. 

 

Jesus loves the little boy in you. Jesus loves the little girl in you. Jesus Loves the little boy in me.  We all love the little boy within us. Everybody grows old to old age; the challenge is to grow to childlikeness, for such is the kingdom of God.
