Gerry Gutierrez' Update
Think tank and think love until it sinks.
“The good old Matter of Love.”
I long to love but I also love being loved. True love is addictive, irresistible, unconditional and persistent to the end.
I have always welcomed the verse that
says, “The fellowship of the saints is our inheritance on this earth.” The
firstborn son of love is fellowship.
He who lives to love, knows God because
God is love. If you cannot but love, do not take credit for yourself because it
is Christ in you who is the hope of glory.
If you care for the poor, you should know that, “He who gives to the poor lends to the Lord.” Our almighty God says: “I will repay.” Rewards like blessings and curses are from the hand of God.
I am a country boy, orphaned from birth since my father died before I was born. I grew up with my grandparents and later in life I became a widower at an early age. I have come to know how it is to be miserably sick tiptoeing at the edge of death many times over but I don’t remember ever feeling truly alone for he whose eyes are on the sparrow, watches me.
I sing because I am happy and I sing because I am free… his eyes are on the sparrow and I know he watches “We.”
The good old subject of love is the
essence of life. Love is not a subject, or a predicate, neither is love an
adjective or a concept, but love is a person and that person is God himself. God is Love. Faith and love will not always abide, but love will abide forever as does water for the fish.
Gerry Gutiérrez. P.S. My prayer request is that I might joyfully endure my present routine of one day of dialysis for another day of recuperating from the stress of dialysis only to go back the following day for more of the same. I will write to you as usual but less often due to the taxing nature of my treatment and running around from doctor to doctor all of the time. Does it sound like I am complaining? If so, ignore it and just remember that I Love Jesus and I love you and I love hearing from you. Last night as I was editing this letter
Six cars from the garage of our apartment complex were vandalized and robbed of
their contents. But our Lord who watches has already turned it into a blessing.
