Gerry Gutierrez' Update
Eating with God at last.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” - Revelation 3:20. Black tie dinner or informal? It does not matter to me as long as our Father in Heaven is home and the family is complete and under one roof.
Finally eating the fruit from the tree of life eternal at discretion. I will no longer live to eat but eat to live from my daily bread broken for me. There will be wine on the table promised by the Lord himself during the last supper from where there will be a brief time to the accomplished and consumed work of Jesus. A good wine before dinner will not only merry my heart but prepares me for the rest my soul has waited for so long.
This is the day I will fully know why “Death is gain.” That night or day I will know how the Lord gives his beloved sleep. I already “remember” my last prayers before I go to bed that night after supper. “In your hands I commend my spirit.”
Ever since Jesus came, the kingdom of God has come out to those who want to go home. For those who long to be back in the garden with Jesus, back in the playpen, back in the sand box, back in absolute safety and peace forever and ever amen.
I will not close this letter until I thank the Lord for knocking the door of my heart and by his grace alone I took the risk to open the door. I SAW AND I BELIEVED AND LOVED HIM!!! It will never be said of me “Nothing ventured, nothing wins.”
I know Jesus and love him more than my own life. I know I am hurting, but the wounds from a friend can be trusted. He wounds and he also heals … might the name of the Lord be praised. Even if he kills me, I will trust in him. (As if I have any other choice.)
Thank you Father in Heaven … in Jesus’ name-amen.
Gerry Gutierrez.
PS. Happy Birthday Kelly. This letter is written in a moment of pause from pain and treatments. Thanks to your prayers, my beloved family and friends. Covid 19 was severe with me but never more than my predestined life purchased by Jesus. I keep seeing doctors more than my whole life. Cheryl and Gene have come into my life recently. That is causing me to giggle.
