I have tasted and I have seen, therefore

there is no place of refuge for me but in Jesus.

 

Some trust in promises while others trust in concepts, but my trust is in a person whose faithfulness I have seen and tasted.

 

Someone said: “From taste and colors there has not been writers.” Others have said that there are tastes that fully deserve a whipping on the back.”

Sashimi and sushi and ceviche are foods that grow on you, an acquired taste that once you get it you cannot live without.

 

For many the French snails are a delicatessen. I find it disgusting after the rain to step on those snails and I hate to clean up the mess on our sidewalk. I guess it is a matter of different strokes for different folks.

 

During the last 50 years of my 75 years of life I have seen and acquired a taste for Jesus that I can say in clean conscience, “Even if he kills me, I will trust in him.” Or like Oswald Chambers used to say, “In the world there is nothing for me but Jesus, no one but Jesus.”

 

There is a lot I put up with in life, but I do so only because of Jesus.

Taking refuge in Jesus does not only bring safety by putting me out of reach of my enemies, but he puts me in a sweet rest that the world does not know.”

 

When a very young Lion is pursued by a pack of hyenas back to the family of lions, the Fear of life is reversed immediately. The persecutors then fear for their lives while the persecuted could not be on safer ground and in sweeter company with its own. 

 

Perhaps you are facing uncertainty, deadlines, new challenges like a pack of hyenas are coming after you today?

 

Come to Jesus the Lion of Judah, come to where you belong and the Lion King will roar for you to the petrifying fear and trembling of those who have dared to bring unrest into your life. Come and sit on his lap where there is room for you.

PS. Last night was extremely restless. I plan to go to the hospital today for another five hours from 05 to 10 PM. Pray that it will be a sweet refuge on the lap of Jesus.
