Gerry Gutierrez' Update

Comfort from God himself.

Dear family and friends,

When an Army of doctors and nurses cannot comfort…‟Jesus steps in.”

As a sick person on the way to my launching pad, I am aware of one need and that one need above other needs is the need of “Comfort.”

When Supermarkets, Pharmacies and Banks stop delivering their “snake oil” for needs of the sick in food, medicine and money it is then we know that “Comfort” has been placed out of reach of human capacity.

When we arrive at our proverbial “end of the rope stage in life,” it is when the Gospel of Jesus so lovingly, so graciously and so beautifully becomes infallible as the head doctor's morning visit to his patients.

That is my experience today when I find no comfort but in his words.

Judge for yourselves my beloved and tell me if you can see what I see and hear what I hear.

“In the multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul.”

Psalms 94:19.

There is a comfort the world does not know. That comfort is from God alone. THY Comfort.

This morning in the midst of pains and aches this wounded soldier has been visited by the Joint Chief and he feels like going to fight another day with him,

Let us together fight the good fight because we are soldiers of Jesus and it is our job while the Sun of his grace rises for us today. The Lord has come to inspect his troops. He has not changed the prescription. There is silence in the Hospital.

He has not moved you to a better place or to a better bed. He left as he came mindful of me and my needs.

Yes.  He has been here to see me. To exchange a look like that of Peter in the Sanhedrin. The convicting look. The caring look. The look that fills your eyes with tears but stamps a smile on your face that even pain cannot erase.

The look of his eyes is my comfort. Therefore, as for me, I would rather have the visit of God in the Hell of my afflictions than to endure the absence of God in heavenly places.

Running to the finish line of “Death is Gain.”

Gerry Gutierrez.

PS.  My needs are many.  Please pray as the Spirit leads you.
