It is a Free Gift and God is not an Indian giver.

 

“There are No two ways about it,” “What I am and what I have is either a free gift from God or what I deserve.”

 

The soul who sinned shall die, said the Lord. All have sinned.

There is no one who has not sinned. Therefore, all are dead!!!

DEAD people are DEAD and the only thing they can do, if “do” would be a proper word, is to stink. Therefore, another name for stink should be “wage” or “salary” or “bad odor” or “fragrance of death.”

 

Death can only beget more death.

It is in that field of dry dead bones that Jesus was sent in order to infuse eternal life as a FREE GIFT FROM GOD which in radical contrast does not only make dead people alive but imparts his own nature to dead people freely with ETERNAL LIFE in Jesus.

 

Consider the following text:

“For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 6:23 “ 

 

While death is not a person but an alienated separation from God, eternal life on the other hand is a person and that person is Jesus and therefore is oneness with God. 

In our reading of scriptures, we fly by a little too fast over the rich content of these two words. “FREE GIFT.”

 

We live in a world where everything has a Price. The more precious the “thing” the higher the price.

 

The question comes “Is there anything more precious than eternal life?”

No! Nothing is more precious than Eternal life.

No one can or has what it takes to obtain Eternal Life.

So we do not stop seriously even for a moment in our window-shopping of God’s Jewelry store because we cannot afford it. So why even look at it?

 

If Eternal Life is priceless, then the accumulated wealth of human beings of all history would not be enough to save and buy eternal life for one single soul.

No one is wealthy enough to even think of buying Eternal Life because they cannot afford it and the Owner of Eternal life is not selling it nor does he need to sell it.

 

What is worse is that God has been offended and the sentence has already been pronounced which is eternal damnation.

 

Again, it is in this tragic scenario that God out of love and grace unilaterally gives freely the supreme and ultimate gift of himself in the person of Jesus who alone is eternal life.

 

Since God is love and is consistent with his romantic nature, On Christmas Night He “Proposed his precious son as a diamond and placed him in a manger within the reach of the poor as well as the rich. The Shepherds of the fields and the wise kings of the East.

 

“A FREE GIFT” in the person of Jesus.

 

Therefore, eternal life is a person not only a status or a mere reconciliation but Jesus in you the hope of glory.

 

Now is also a good time to understand forgiveness.

Why did God have to forgive man his debts and offenses?

Because he could not pay on his own. God paid it all and he paid it in full. What a feeling it is to have your bill paid. 

Salvation and Eternal life is a consummate fact because it is the free gift of God in Jesus.
