Gerry Gutierrez' Update
The Rottenness of Handsome and the beauty of plainness.
Dear Family and friends,
Let us together take a look at handsome Absalom and let us look to Jesus, the grandson of plain looking Leah.
“Not everything that shines is gold.”
If the awful demon, the creature of darkness, can disguise himself as an Angel of light to deceive, what hope is there for us to escape deception in a world where my understanding has blurred the world, the flesh, and the Devil?
As a voracious fish that sees every juicy lure as free bait, I also live in an ocean of temptation, and deceit, and danger.
The movie business which is the fishing industry of souls has significantly changed its policy of making movies where excessive violence, excessive beauty, excessive ugliness, and absence of godliness is presented as shocking as it can possibly be so that even adults suffer nightmares.
When I was young, I used to be fast on the draw and quick with the trigger shooting from the hip because there was plenty of vigor, plenty of youth so that I also had plenty of bullets to spare.
Now that I am old, I carefully choose my targets and make sure to squeeze the trigger no longer pulling the trigger on a carefully chosen target.
When I go hunting, I am no longer shooting at the first sight of butchers flying over me to just practice my aim. Now that bullets are expensive and walking in the woods is difficult, I am careful in my aim and choice of weapons and game.
This Sunday morning, I will pave the road for my pastor friends and ask you to join me in aiming and shooting a point of view about what evil is doing through the movie industry.
The grotesque and excessive ugliness presented with loud and well-orchestrated music is in no way designed to drive you to God for cover and protection and safety.
The simple message of the movie is to leave behind the retina of our eyes the impression that those horrible things exist and are terrible and have a life of their own so that someone of a creator has allowed it or no longer is under control.
The voice of the serpent in the Garden of Eden is the same voice today and that voice is the voice of the deceiver, of a liar, and the father of lies. Beware that the one aim of Satan is to seek to make you doubt the love of the faithful and the sovereign ruler of the universe who in Jesus became a man for a short while for our sake.
Satan’s desire is to present God as the author of evil and himself as a friend and an Angel of light.
On the other hand, the sense of beauty that Satan presents to the world is the same as that of the forbidden fruit that was presented perfect in beauty with mascara on the outside but deadly at the first bite.
There is more to the beauty pageant and the red-carpet treatment and that is to provoke a no ending competition and alienation from one another.
Remember that in the Miss Universe contest it is not beauty that is being judged but God’s creation as if men would be really qualified to judge the creator's work.
Not all that shines is Gold. Look at the handsome Absalom the rotten Son of David and look at Jesus the grandson of plain looking Leah.
