Gerry Gutierrez' Update

You never over emphasized beautiful things.

Let me be an evidentialist today.

Love is the evidence that one is of God, begotten of God and knoweth God.

For the sake of the fact checkers I shall use the following verse as the foundation of this article. “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is begotten of God, and knoweth God.” 1 John 4:7

Have you ever wondered about your identity as a child of God and wished to have had a DNA test? Well, wonder no more, this is the evidence that you are of God, you are from God, and you are for God, it is because you know him and you are to love to make the fragrance of your nature be known to the world around you.

Preachers in their desire to drive many nails home they often end up driving none.

I should be wise enough myself to just stop here and not make any additional comments and send it to you as is with the simple instruction “love one another.”

But due to the fact that love is a word that has acquired a life of its own, it is necessary for me to point out to you “Love is deep waters.”

Love is not a feeling to be learned nor is love a fuzzy wuzzy feeling. I shall be abrupt enough to start by saying that Love is a Person and that person is God himself manifested in Jesus in all of its fullness as a noun, a verb, an article, an adjective, a subject and predicate, all in one at the same time.

Grant at this time that Love is unique and should be treated as such, and not as any other word or concept or notion or random thought.

The dimensions and weight of Love has always kept me like a small worm under Mount Augustus the Largest Australian Rock of the world.

But my present understanding of God as Love in Jesus has made out of me a super worm capable of kicking Mount Augustus into orbit.

I would have never understood Love apart from Jesus who is the love of God made flesh for me. Jesus said love one another as I have loved you, by this they will know that you are my disciples if you love one another. There is a dimension of love that has to do with good works which is loving as Jesus loved is a self-giving love.

We really do not love until we give ourselves to others, because what the world around us needs is not what we have, not what we can give, nor what we know but what we are. It is Jesus in us as the hope of glory what others need to see within us.

The kind of love that Jesus is talking about is the kind of love that loves first when we were yet sinners which means unconditional love.

The kind of love Jesus requires is love to the end.
