Shortcut to power from God.
“Faith versus prayer” “The secret to draw power from God.”
What good is Prayer without Faith? But if you believe, Prayer is not as indispensable as is Faith.
Please read at this time Luke 8: 49-56.
There was a crowd crashing on Jesus but a woman of faith managed to just touch the hem of Jesus’ garment. She was instantly healed from her twelve years of issue of blood. Jesus said Who touched me? Everyone is crashing on you and you are asking, “Who touched me?”
Jesus said, “Someone has touched me because power has gone out of me.” As a thief caught in the very act of felony, the woman fell at the feet of Jesus, confessing it was her who touched him.
Jesus recognized the woman as one of his daughters and said, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” In other words, here is a vociferous prayer meeting and everyone is crashing on Jesus “Praying?” Jesus is not listening to anyone because faith is absent from their prayers.
But a poor sick woman on the other hand has so much faith that is drowned by the noise of Prayer without faith. Men and women of faith do not always do things the right way, but they sure do the right thing and right away. A man of faith comes before God to agree with whatever is the will of God. While a faithless man of prayer comes before God to persuade God to agree with him in the name of Jesus, his son whom he loves.
When the news is that it is to late because the twelve year old little girl is dead, notice that Jesus did not say, “Just pray a little more.” No. Jesus said, “Don’t be afraid, Just believe and she will be healed.” But the “Praying Mantis” crowd who is pressing on Jesus in prayer, weeping and wailing, laughs at Jesus, when he said that the little girl was just sleeping.
So much for prayer warriors who do not believe in the power of their own prayers. What few people notice is that Jesus excludes those who laugh at him are lacking in faith. He invited only his three friends Peter, James and John and the parents of the little girl inside the room where the little girl is marvelously resurrected to the praise of God and the joy of those who have faith and are not afraid but Just believe.
Just like my little friend Ana Claire Connors, faithful people are a little “weird but cute.” Beware of those who “Just believe” and in whom God’s favor rests. These are the little ones of our great God and Father in heaven. Prayer is in danger of becoming “Good works” but faith cannot be faked because it is a gift of God and it is the “Birth mark” on the children of God. The best way to know if you have faith is when your life is drawn in repentance and you are ready to forgive at the first sign of repentance by those who have sinned against you.
Yesterday my hospital bed was delivered and now I am writing from the comfort on my back which is lifted up, with a weird smile on my face and feeling cute like my little friend Anna Clair. I am thinking of my beloved friends who are sick at this time and are in bed like Kay Meyers, Jimmy Crosby and my own son Osman Gutierrez who is in Quarantine.
Remember that true life and healing is the return of the spirit into the body in plenty and should be followed by a good meal. What you do not spend in the market you will end up spending in the pharmacies. Eat well, eat slowly, but eat well and from the sound of his voice and bread from his broken body and poured out blood.
“Faith is the victory that overcomes the world.”
