When did God love?

 

“When we needed him the most and we deserved him the least.”

 

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8.

 

Dear Lord Jesus, this is your Gerry with a “G”.

 

Today I needed to hear from you and I thank you for texting me in Romans 5:8.

Sometimes I feel like nobody truly loves me and just then you remind me by texting me that “You truly love me and love me realy good.”

 

I think you are beautiful Lord Jesus.

Thank you so much for loving me when I was still ‟A bad little boy.”

Thank you for loving me when I was not able to do any good at all.

I am writing back to you a text early in the morning. It is at the crack of dawn as the first thought of the day while I listen to the little birds outside my windows praising God along with me. “I BELIEVE IN YOUR LOVE FOR ME DEAR LORD.”

 

But just between you and me dear Lord, “I want to tell you that I have come to conclude that you cannot help yourself but to love because YOU ARE LOVE.”

But what makes me strong in my faith in you is the belief that you are also JUST and that you keep your word. Your word is true and final therefore the revered ‟Fear of the Lord is born in my heart.” It is then when I feel as tied to an anchor. I feel secure in the Father’s love and hand from where no one including me can snatch me away.”

 

I rest with you today with the daily motto, “I might be sad tomorrow but not today.”

 

By the way dear Lord, I was about to apologize for my many words in this text, then I remember how much I love the texts that my son Nathaniel writes to me. The longer his texts the better. I hope I got that from your side of the family.

 

Thank you for the gift of my cutting board last night sent by your angels in disguise. Thank you also for the delicious hot chicken sandwich.

 

This was your former but grateful “bad little boy” who has been made good by “your perfect little boy Jesus in me who is the hope of glory.” Please call me any time because I want to say, “Yes” to your will in my prayers.
