Gerry Gutierrez' Update

Let us get ready for Easter.

Dear Friends,

“Jesus and His needs.”

When prince Jesus came into the world to visit us the first time, there was no room in the inn for him but there was a manger.

When Jesus went to his house (the temple) to rest in the fellowship of his saints in prayer, he found that his house had become a dent of thieves.

When prayer is absent man is robbing from God the fellowship which is due to his name.

When Jesus was hungry early one morning, there were no figs on the fig tree but plenty of green leaves promising food but delivering none.

When Jesus was overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death, he called Peter, James and John to pray with him in Gethsemane, but they fell asleep in less than one hour.

When his enemies in the garden captured Jesus, all his friends abandoned him except the few women who followed him to the end and beyond the cross all the way to his grave.

When Jesus was cold one dark miserable night in the Sanhedrin his hands were handcuffed so that he could not rub his hands together to warm up. Meanwhile, Peter was fellowshipping by the fire with his new found friends.

When Jesus “the living water” was on the cross and thirsty, when his face was increasingly pale, when his lips turned ashy color and his tongue was dry in the roof of his mouth, Jesus let a moan escape from his lips...‟I am thirsty!” But Rome and his soldiers and the world offer Jesus nothing but undrinkable vinegar. Nevertheless, Jesus finished his work by signing with the ink of his blood and by sealing it with the last words from his lips, the “Consummation” of our redemption, saying, “Paid in full.”

THUS, JESUS TEACHES US TO DIE AND AT THE SAME TIME CONVERT DEATH INTO GAIN.

Yes! That is the way that Jesus led justice into victory becoming the just and the justifier of God on our behalf.

If you believe in the broken bread and poured out wine of the body and blood of Jesus ... you will also, like Abraham, be credited as righteous thanks to the love and grace of Jesus alone.

When Jesus was alone in agony on the cross, people in cruelty shook their heads and added insult to an already mortally injured man.

When the life giving blood of Jesus poured down from the cross to the cursed ground to stain the earth, he then with a new Divine stain removed the guilty stain. It was done while alone in complete abandonment so that even his Father could not stand but to look away from him.

Today when the Holy Cravings of Jesus visit him in thirst and hunger, be prepared to let him help himself from you and say on the tip of your tongue the prayer, “In your hands I commend my Spirit.”

Remember, Jesus went to the darkest valley of the shadow of death and back for you because he is, “Crazy about you.”

This is the seemingly irreverent “Road Runner” of Jesus on duty who has already passed the gates of hell and is now in the last stretch that leads to the pearly gates of heaven.
