Prophecy?

God’s people have not returned to God.

(Chattanooga Valley PCA. January 23, 2021)

Deuteronomy 28 and Amos 3 and 4.

Good morning, “Little sticks snatched from the fire.”

Let me begin by saying what Henry the VIII said to each of his many wives.

“I will not keep you long.”

This morning at 3:30 am the Lord prompted me to read what Carl Chaplin asked us all to read in Deuteronomy 28 and Amos 3 and 4 for this Bible Study.

As an ordained minister and missionary serving the Lord for 50 years my mind is captive to “The Great Commission of Jesus.” As Jesus said and Moses and Amos in these passages the task of the follower of Jesus throughout the ages is not to impart new information of things never spoken or heard but “to teach them to obey” that which the Lion of Judah has roared or spoken already.

The greatest obedience of all obedience is to love God and love one another.

“By this they will know that you are my disciples if you love one another as I have loved you.” (Jesus)

The love of one person to another is in the agreement that works when walking together. We are either walking together in agreement with someone and advancing or we are like little ants going around in a vicious circle going nowhere but around their anthill. You might even have speed but you have no direction whatsoever and therefore no progress.

The Lion King has roared, who will not fear? God has spoken who will not prophesy?

Again, it is not a matter of more information that we need but teaching each other and motivating each other to obey what the lion of Judah has already spoken.

Otherwise, there might be again another large and powerful country with difficult language invade us and enslave us as God has used nations to discipline us, his people saved as a stick from the fire.

The small obedience of two or three walking together in agreement is the agenda of the day.

This was a trembling Lion’s Cub on duty.
