Gerry Gutierrez' Update

Have a very Happy 2021. Food for thought as you pursue a goal worth dying for.

Remembering the giants in an era of

uncertainty, doubts, malice and deception.

Times such as ours, makes us long for heroes that in the past used to roam the earth in the greatness that comes from true humility.

God has placed Humility and greatness within reach.

Moses, David, John the Baptist and Jesus are the great ones of God. Without them humility and greatness would have been lifeless concepts impossible to attain. The Lord has not left us without witnesses and examples.

Like heads and tails, humility and greatness are two sides of the same coin.

A humble man is destined to greatness as surely as a great man is humble.

Just as pride and humility are not a matter of posture, but matters of the heart, so humility and greatness are matters of the spirit that can easily be misread with the eye because they are spiritual facts that need to be spiritually discerned.

A spiritual man is the result of the supernatural work and power of the Holy Spirit from the get go, so the process and the end result are one and the same thing.

There is a saying, “It takes one to know another one.”

Only a spiritual man can fully recognize and know another spiritual man who is acquainted with grief and is familiar with the sorrow that comes from living a life in conflict with the world, the devil and the flesh.

There is no need to see the final result of the life of a humble and spiritual man to conclude whether a man is spiritual or not.

Since the process and the end result is one and the same thing, it is in the process that we testify as witnesses of Jesus to the work of his spirit in our lives.

Intimacy with God in Jesus is in the secret chamber of the heart where the courtship of Jesus with his bride continues as in the Garden at the cool of the day.

One of the evidences of the spiritual activity in the life of a person is his love for the Gospel of Repentance for the forgiveness of sin on a daily basis. A true follower of Jesus is one, who by nature of his relationship with God, is severe with himself about the state of his heart.

The spiritually humble man is not judged by anyone because he already is of Jesus and for Jesus and is against himself in matters of the Will and word of God for his life. Only a believer is able to see the love and grace of the invisible God when he experiences the forgiveness of God that there is in repentance.

Freedom from guilt cannot be faked. The joy of a free man is for private consumption, but includes God himself and a fellow believer.

The wealth of a spiritually humble man on earth is his fellowship with a fellow believer. This wealth is not earned but inherited.

“The fellowship of the saints is our inheritance on this earth.” (Paul).

Inheritance on earth is to be experienced on earth in the table of Jesus feasting on his broken body and poured out blood. More of the same awaits those going heavenward. The Fellowship of the saints is deep waters and not skin deep.

A word of advice, “seek that fellowship of the saints on earth” so that we will not have to live eternity apologizing for not having taken the risk of getting close to one another in oneness while on earth.

God forbid that we ever trade humility from the heart with the postures of humility. The posture of humility is a counterfeit and disgustingly false coin that has no purchase value to the seller nor to the buyer. Evaluate your heart with the measuring stick of Jesus and be full of grace when you measure others.

It is the will of God the Father and Jesus that we might be humble.

God resists the proud but he is gracious to the humble. We either humble ourselves or we will be thoroughly humiliated.

Do not discount the pandemic as the means of grace from God working out in us faith, trust, dependence and humility. Pursue humility because Jesus was humble and meek. God is at work in his creation of which man is the crown.

“He who has begun the good work in us will continue to completion until that day of his glorious return.” God did not spare his own son.

We either humble ourselves before the mighty hand of God or we will be thoroughly humiliated. Like the metal in the hands of him who forges the sword is the hand of our maker working on us.

I send this letter to you with a prayer and in agony that God himself might open the eyes of your understanding to grasp that, which in the flesh I might have failed to totally communicate.

Your fellow toddler in the hands of the “White Smith of heaven.”
