Gerry Gutierrez' Update

She said: "I do myself."

“Jesus is the Life.”

Life is not a state of being but a person within a person who is Jesus.

There is a notion that our life belongs to us as if we were able to be our own.

Perhaps we can say the dust of our body belongs to us. But in all fairness, not even that dust belongs to us because at death the dust goes back to where it came from. So, our body is not our own.

People in the past used to say, “I think ... therefore I exist ... or “I doubt ... then I exist.” “Come on man...”!!! Clay will always be clay ... no matter what shape or form it might take.

When a man deliberately “thinks” or “doubts” it is in no way the clay in him that has developed to the point of exercising the most sophisticated form of existence that is “thought.”

For starters, let’s admit to ourselves that as clay no one has consulted us to become more that a pile of dirt. No matter how much science you might pour into two hundred pounds of dirt, dirt will remain dirt.

It is said that Scientists came to the point of thinking of themselves able to challenge God by being capable of making a better and perfect man. It is also said that God accepted the challenge with one condition, “BRING YOUR OWN DIRT.”

(So much for the arrogant scientist that cannot even make a little bit of dirt out of nothing.)

Let us think together for a moment: “Let us assume that dirt was available for everyone to do as they please... but...from an inorganic lifeless matter to jump to an organic or living matter regardless of how primitive that form of existence might be, it will take not only a great deal of imagination but a miracle to explain such a dialectic jump.

Last night I learned the latest “quote” by my granddaughter Aaliyah Kay (3) saying: “I do myself.” This reminds me that many pseudo scientists are saying that a small ameba in a swamp, with the determination of my granddaughter Aaliyah, said millions of years ago, “I do myself.”

What is amazing is not that improbable theory but the fact that many have come to believe it as “Fact.” It is the nightmare of a speculator who has overeaten cheese before going to bed and in his tossing and turning like a worm came up to glorify its ancestors “The Ameba which is the grandfather of the “Amphipathecus Robustus” who in turn became the father of the “Pre-hominids” that in turn begat the Cro-Magnon and the man of Java and Peking.

To consummate their crime against Truth and humanity and against the “Creator God,” those felons give you movies such as the “Planet of the Apes,” “Godzilla, King Kong, ET, Star Wars etc.”

Jesus as the lawyer of humanity in his opening statement has used a figure of speech mixing irony and hyperbole when he said “These swallow a Camel ...but they choke with a fly.” “Hypocrites.” We live in an age when people prefer to believe that  “Nobody plus nothing is equal to everything.”

I must confess that anger visits my mind when I see the prosperity of the wicked in the classrooms of our children and grandchildren. However, the soft winds of love and grace remain in me because I was one of those Godless reprobates until Jesus the Light of the World shown by grace alone into the darkness of my mind.

I am in search of a young mind or an old mind in which there is a fight left to stand together for Jesus and declare to the world that life is not the result of a strong will ameba that said, “I do myself.”

Please pause and sing Psalm 100.

Recognize that God is good and he has made us not ourselves.

The marvel of creation can only be understood in the Incarnation of God in Jesus. God left Heaven renouncing his godhead and entering into the graveyard called earth. Life from heaven came to death on earth. Not to bring a new status or a reformed quality of life to better our estate of being ...NO!

Jesus is the life. Jesus came to feed us from himself as broken bread and poured out wine so that by Faith we are partakers of his Life. Jesus is the Life.

Life is a person within a person and his sovereign rule is health if we trust and obey.

By the way, it is normal for a three year old child to say “I do myself.”

But it is not normal for an adult to say “I do myself.” He should know better.

We need to say to one another looking at the eyes, “Jesus is God.” “Jesus is Life.” “Life is from God.” “Jesus lives in my heart.” Thank you, Jesus!!!

Thank you...thank you...thank you.!

This was one who cannot “do by himself” ... nevertheless on duty.
