Gerry Gutierrez' Update

This is the Great Day of the Lord.

This is the “D” day of Jesus.

This was the day that in the plains of the infinite and eternal that Jesus hit the pothole of time and the bump of space and bounced back all the way to heaven by his resurrection and ascension to prepare a place for us.

This is the day that Jesus inaugurated “the death is gain” reality not cutting with a pair of scissors over the papier-mâché at the finish line but by tearing apart the Curtain from top to bottom so that we might freely enter into and out of the Holy of Holies as free men and women liberated by grace and love.

Thank you, Jesus for “D Day one” and for piercing in the enemy lines a beachhead by your death and resurrection. Thank you, Son of David for coming to smash the head of the defiant “Goliath” on the cross. Thank you, “Oh Seed of the Woman” for mortally wounding the serpent on the head.

Today I forget the pain of my wounds in the body and ignore my bleedings because as a lost lamb on the shoulder of the good Shepherd I am securely peeking and laughing the laughter of the redeemed.

I was sad yesterday but not today. Alleluia! Jesus is risen and he is risen indeed.

Your redeemer lives and he lives forever. Vicariously I was exhausted on Saturday but today the Sun is shining and I am above cloud nine.

From now on everyday will be Sunday and I will break bread and drink wine at the table of communion with Jesus until he comes back again.

This Sunday is a “Sonday.” It is the day of the Lord Jesus, the Son of God.

Let us just listen to Jesus and limit our prayer lives to say “Yes” to God in Jesus.

In my mind I am going to the beach with my buckets, shovels and plenty of Sunscreen on my back. Join me my friends because at sunset we can go home together to a hot meal of comfort food on the table of our Father in heaven.

This is your plain old Gerry happy to be your friend and playmate.

“Play and Pray”

PS. I took this picture of the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem after having entered in and sitting where the angel sat the morning of the resurrection.
