Gerry Gutierrez' Update

God speaks today if we are willing to listen.

I owe my life to this verse.

The day I read this verse, was the first time in my life I saw God in Jesus.

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. Luke 23:34.

A wonderful “Being” spoke the most heart piercing words ever spoken on planet earth. I hesitate to call him a “Man” because I cannot believe a man would be able to say such words on behalf of those who have caused him such Indescribable pain and abuse by cruel execution and death on a cross.

For smaller offenses “a man” does not only react proportionally but escalates to the point of “Road rage” risking it all in pursuit of “vengeance” that is camouflage in his sense of Justice.

Human beings in general when they are hit, they hit back or hit back twice as hard. The mind of the avenger writes the word fair as a sub point under the word Justice to justify his acts or revenge. Not Jesus! And that alone makes Jesus one in “a class of his own.”

Definitely not a man only but not a God only but truly a “God-Man.” Both in one person named Jesus the Emmanuel of God and man, which is God with us.

Salvation needed a God’s size, power and love to accomplish the conquering of man’s heart.

I for one bank and put all my eggs in one basket and take Jesus at his word and offer in return the already half burned stick of my life to cast into the fire with Jesus so others can warm up toward surrender as I have done on the day Jesus spoke to my mind those wonderful words.

With no second thought in my mind, I declare that I owe my life to this verse.

Jesus conquered my soul from the cross.

Jesus in my mind could not be “A man only.”

Jesus in my mind could not be “A God only.”

A man cannot love as Jesus loved.

A God cannot die on the cross as Jesus died. Therefore, only Jesus is God and Man at the same time and there is no other like Jesus.

Salvation is so great that it needed a great savior. The Gospel is to believe in him whom God sent. God did not send Jesus as one drafted as a volunteer to accomplish the dirty and bloody work of redemption on the cross. No!

God made himself a human being in Jesus for our sake.

It took a God’s size love to accomplish effectively, irresistibly, unconditionally, and perseveringly the exclusive courting and conquering of our hearts of stone.

Might the sight of the cross of Jesus and his most powerful words from the cross cause you to surrender afresh to your first and only lover of your soul.

Thank you Jesus for praying for the forgiveness of our sins.

Thank you Father for listening to the prayers of your Son Jesus on our behalf.

We owe our lives to your love and prayers dear Jesus.

Forgiveness is a gift of God offered with outstretched hands that will never be ours until by faith we receive it in repentance. The Gospel is a Gospel of repentance for the forgiveness of sin. Remember that it is all about saying “Yes” to God in Jesus.

This is one on duty staring at the cross in awe.

PS. Thank you so very much for your Prayers for my grandchildren in Tacoma. I talked to them today and they are in great spirit and very happy. Since I found favor in your eyes, please also pray for Nathaniel and Alicia as they are hunting for a family car in good condition and low mileage.

PS 2. The photo is our house where the only word worth God's ears is "YES."
