Gerry Gutierrez' Update
"Do no harm."
Let us have a cup of coffee. #2. “Do no harm”
“Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore, love is the fulfillment of the law.” Romans 13:10.
The Hippocratic Oath. “Do no harm.” It’s not only for those who practice medicine but also for anyone who has any advantage over others and the power to harm them.
While doing harm might be active aggression, the scripture goes beyond that and addresses the issue of passive transgressions in that the lack of love and loving is “Lawlessness.”
In other words, according to Paul, “not to love” is to harm the neighbor. Therefore, it is “Breaking the Law.” The moment a person breaks the Law actively or peaceably, by commission or omission, he or she becomes a “Law breaker” and places his or her life under arrest in the hands of “Law enforcement.”
Transgression is equivalent to jumping on one of the plates of the scale of justice and tilts it against the transgressor. Transgression is an open challenge to the hand of Justice that holds the sword. The foot of Justice rests on the Law of God and her eyes are blind folded to enforce the law free of passion and prejudice against the disturber of peace in the “Garden of God.”
Jesus, in love, came to fulfill the requirements of the Law by taking our place on the scale, thus the innocent was executed instead of the transgressor.
That is the Gospel. “The love of God in Jesus keeps us from the harm our transgressions deserve.”
This was the waiter on duty in the coffee house of God.

PS. As my grandma would say about grandchildren, "This is life." (With Simeon.)
