Gerry Gutierrez' Update
God as
our "Father."
Jesus
said, “This, then, is how you should pray”:
No one alive or dead has had two fathers.
If two men claim to be the father of one, one of them is false, and the other is the true father. A man can have two or more sons, but a son can have only one father.
Jesus prohibits calling anyone a Father on Earth. There is only One Father and the Doer of good things and that is Our Father who art in Heaven.
Sometimes a son may act like the devil himself, but that does not make him a son of the devil. One is not related to another by what one does, but by what one is.
Relationships are based on birth, while communion is based on behavior. One can lose communion, but one cannot lose relationships.
Once you are a child of someone, then you are always a child of that one. Relationships cannot change by any amount of doing, whether good or evil. If one is of God, he is of God forever.
“Nothing can separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38)
God is not “like” a father; God IS our Father in Heaven. There is only one God and Father for the believer, and that one is,
“Our God and Father who art in Heaven.”
