Gerry Gutierrez' Update

Each citizen is a soldier.

“I know something you might not know.”

Once I was a Marxist Revolutionary leader.

When I see Candice Owen speaking freely seemingly against her own black race, I wish I could also say what is in my mind against my former radical Marxist revolutionary friends on what is in progress in America.

In the past while my wife was alive, I could not speak freely so as not to endanger my wife and children from the terrorist retaliation.

After my wife died, I had no one to embarrass but myself so that explains my latest boldness in writing as I do.

But now that my adopted country is in danger from radical Marxist ideology creeping up its ugly presence in our society, I do not have the advantage, even of a pulpit, to warn and spread my experience and knowledge in order to avoid a great tragedy in our midst.

Early this year I went to Washington DC in search of a man or woman of vision to see if I could help as the man in the Gap. I met many of the “usual suspects” of the VIP world who were busy as bees during the Presidential National Prayer Breakfast.

Interestingly enough I returned home to Georgia somehow “empty handed” though with incredible political and economic proposals to change the world.

How I miss my dearest friends and mentor the Reverend Steve and Sandy Smallman from my Church the McLean PCA. How I need their word of counsel and wisdom. When I first met the Smallmans in 1972 I did not know the English language but spoke in their home with an interpreter.

They took me under their wings and adopted me as their “Soldier” as Sandy used to call me. The Congregation was very small, they only had three kids. I had none. I was single and slender; the Smallman’s were such a handsome couple.

When Ruthie came into the picture, the Smallman’s became regular “match makers” to the chagrin of my in-laws. Later I learned the English language to the point of being entrusted with the pulpit of Steve. When my Ruthie died years later, the Smallmans stood with me and as usual made me feel strong and ready to face the balance of my life with their friendship.

The last words of my wife to me were a solemn charge; “You will have more time for your Lord and to finish your book on prayer papa.”

Little did I know that the departure of Ruthie to heaven meant an incredible loneliness that worsened as my children left home to build their own nest.

Dark clouds returned after the rain and retirement hit me unprepared as my dear daughter Keila also died all of a sudden shattering my already broken heart.

As if that was not enough, I had a stroke that left me paralyzed on the left side so that “Half soldier” seems to be an adequate new nickname for me. I could face anything and I still aim to change the world but cannot do it alone.

Oh, how I miss my friends, the Smallmans.

If it were not for my young visionary friends the Mitchels, “The Fingerprints of God,” I strongly doubt that I would still be alive. Thank you, Jesus.

The fall season is coming and winter will follow and the leaves of every tree will fall down to the ground. When the tree seems to need more of a coat in its leaves to face the winter, sadly it is left alone.

In the same way, the older I get I face the winter of my life and I walk into the sunset alone. I need my friends more than ever before but they are not near.

I have become a one-string banjo player with a laser focus on praying until believing in prayer and having all things a prayer away. No matter what, I write to my family and friends around the world. I am a salesman of prayer.

I know no other way to make it individually or as a society but by prayer.

I fear ideology more than weapons of war.

The Chinese ideology is godless and totalitarian with tentacles all over the world. It has become the true Social Imperialism of our time to be careful about.

The “modus operandi” of the violent activity in America is no different than the terrorist activity of Peru of the last thirty years which has killed more than 75,000 people.

There are things that I know that few people in America know about terrorist activity. I can help you to be ready, because I have been there.

This is one of the “We the People” on duty.
