Faith and prayer equals power
Your understanding of prayer determines your belief. The size of your belief is the size of your faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God. But to him who believes nothing is impossible. If faith uproots trees and moves mountains, there must therefore be limitless power in faith. Power is one of the essential aspects of Kingdom work. The Gospel of Jesus is the power of God. Faith and prayer are the two rails upon which the powerful locomotive of the work of God runs, and the gates of hell cannot prevail against it. Power is not innate in the nature of men. Power is the result of belief, and belief is the work of God. Jesus said, “The works of God is that you believe in him whom he hath sent.” Everyone claims to believe in God, and that is good. Even the demons believe and shudder. To believe in the God of my imagination is not saving faith. To believe in the God whom I have not seen nor has been revealed to me is not saving faith in God. To believe in Jesus is to believe in God. Jesus is the revelation of God. Jesus is the self-disclosure of God. In Jesus God made himself visible. There is no other way to know God but through Jesus. Belief in God apart from Jesus is not useful for the salvation of one’s soul. Belief and trust in Jesus as God is the ground over which prayer has power. This is the teaching elder on duty in matters of Prayer. Gerry Gutierrez.
