Prayer and love

Just as “We love Him because he first loved us.”

So “We know how to pray because he taught us to pray.”

Teach people to love you by loving them first.

There is nothing lovable in you save for the life of Jesus within you.

Do not expect to be loved if you do not love first.

You must love them as you love yourself.

Whether they love you or not, you must love them anyway.

Pray to the Father through Jesus and with Jesus.

If you love God you will pray. He is waiting to talk to you.

This, then, is how you should pray:

“’Our Father who art in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

¹⁰your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

¹¹Give us today our daily bread.

¹²And forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

¹³And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from the evil one.’”

This is the teaching elder on duty in matters of Prayer.
