Repeat after Jesus:

“Our Father in Heaven.”

 

Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.

Forgiveness is the one thing that makes communion possible.

Common union and unity are on the same plane. Unhindered relationship is the fellowship of the righteous, the gathering of the innocent who stand before God and each other just as if they had never sinned.

Forgiveness is the one indispensable thing for true reconciliation. The offended party has the right to sue for punitive damage and set the price of the compensation. “In our case this is death.” The soul who sins must die.

If death is the penalty for offenses to God, there is nothing to look forward to in life. Death is not the termination of life, as we know it, but the ongoing agony of the spirit separated from a loving God.

Agony is neither life not death; it is an ongoing torment that one would like to end but cannot. But God “Our Father in heaven” so loved us that he sent his Son to pay the cost for our forgiveness, thus making all things easy. We need only repent.

The offer of Forgiveness advertises repentance. Therefore, repent now.
