REPEAT AFTER JESUS,

“YOUR KINGDOM COME.”

 

The idea of kingdom, as well as family and authority, is God’s idea.

 

Kingdom implies a king, servants, and a domain. In this case God is the King, men and spiritual beings are His servants, and Heaven and Earth are His domain.

 

The Lord’s Prayer presents two kingdoms in conflict, with one another. The Kingdom of God, coming to conquer from above, where even the gates of hell cannot prevail against it. The other is being conquered.

 

The prayer of the Lord states that Father and children are at the moment in separate places, one is in Heaven and the others are on Earth. 

 

Man is led to pray for God’s Kingdom to come on earth. Man speaks as one from Heaven, but at the moment as an insider or a spy on earth. In a way that is what we are.

 

We are eager to be delivered by the second coming of the conquering Lord Jesus, who in His first coming brought the Kingdom near and to those who surrender to His claims as the rightful King of both Heaven and earth.

 

So, this then is how you must pray: “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.” # 69.
