Gerry Gutierrez' Update

Let us cope with fear together.

Followers of Jesus are gentle but extraordinary People.

Once upon a time, the Courageous prophet Elijah made hundreds of the false prophets of Baal run for their lives and eventually killed them all, but he himself ran from a wicked woman who wanted him dead. Elijah was an ordinary but powerful man of God who believed in prayer. Elijah cause a drought for three years but at times he felt so utterly lonely and depressed that he thought of himself as the only one left in the service of God.

Think not as strange that followers of Jesus at times are lonely and even run.

Joseph prompted by God in a dream was told to run at midnight for his life to Egypt to save Mary and Jesus. Can you imagine God the only Son of the Almighty God of the universe running for his life?

Many think that heroes do not run because only cowards run.

Before you jump to conclusions, (the only exercise allowed during the quarantine), let me tell you that the timing of God set by prophecy and predestination, is more important than any side of the road event.

You have heard many times the Lord Jesus talking about, “my time has not come yet.” “The time is near.” “Any time is a good time for you.” “The time has come.” Then “It is finished.”

Remember the attitude of the people after the feeding of the five thousand?

They wanted to make Jesus king by force, but Jesus walk away from their midst.

It is the Gospel Truth nailed on the cross by Pilot that “JESUS IS KING OF THE JEWS.”

But Jesus coming as a king will be at his Second Coming and not a minute early.

It is not lack of faith to run from danger; nor is great courage or faith to face eminent danger before the “timing of the Lord.” (Presumption?)

Better to run now along with other chickens from the Chicken hawk and live today to fight another day of God’s choice.

I use to confront my adversaries in the worst case scenario as “The immovable object against the incredible Force.” Seldom if ever I counted defeat as an item in the budget of my life.

But since the death of my wife, the breaking of my heart and the death of my daughter, I have aged and deteriorated fast, Even my friends Mr. Smith and Wesson do not seem to be enough to keep away knocks at my door at the wee hours of the night and noises in my overpopulated cul-de-sac. Nathaniel thinks that some surveillance camera or an alarm system would be a good idea, my floodlights keep turning on and off all night long. Any suggestion?

Followers of Jesus are fragile and gentle but extraordinarily people. I am also fragile this side of heaven, but I keep writing under the conviction that when I am weak then I am strong.
