Gerry Gutierrez' Update
Two word sermon. Jesus and Debts.
“Jesus and Debts.”
Apart from being wise to settle accounts on this side of heaven because later could be too late; unsettled debts pass the customs to the hereafter concealed in the pages of memory.
In the history of Jesus about Lazarus and the rich man, after they both died the rich man is in Hell in agony and tormented while Lazarus is in heaven in the bosom of father Abraham comforted.
The rich man in unquenchable thirst said, “Father Abraham, please have Lazarus dip his finger in water and touch my tongue for I am in agony.” Abraham answered, “Remember my son that when you were on earth, you had your good things and Lazarus his bad things, now he is comforted and you are tormented.” Besides there is a chasm built between here and there that no one can come from here to there or from there to here.”
Remember? Remember? Remember?
Of course, you remember! No one can forget the past written in the pages of memory. Remember that you died without having settled accounts with Lazarus. He does not owe you a thing and even if he would want to help you, he cannot because God himself has built a Chasm that no one can cross from here to there and from there to here.
Remember that you did not pay the love you owe him on earth to Lazarus, so he does not owe you a thing. Do not die in deficit my friend. Settle accounts now! “Later it will be too late.”
The Gospel of Jesus is a Gospel of repentance for the forgiveness of sin.” Forgiveness is not only a matter between God and man but between man and his fellow man. Forgiveness is the second name of love. If you do not love your fellow believer to whom you have seen, how could you love God to whom you have not seen?
The brutal separation of the wicked rich man and pious Lazarus is not my main concern as I write this letter to you my beloved in the Lord Jesus. No. It is the yeast of self-righteousness of the Pharisees that like smoke permeates the otherwise clean and white robe of righteousness purchased by Jesus on the cross for those who believe.
Your salvation or condemnation is a matter rooted deep in the heart of God in eternity where God after the counsel of his own will has elected, chosen, predestined and secured the exact number of members of his kingdom.
My concern is that the fragrance of life of your white garment purchased by Jesus and his blood might not have any odor of worldliness due to unsettle accounts as you step into the next life.
The price of our first class ticket to heaven has already been purchased and paid for by Jesus. The Tesla at the Airport of consummation will pick us up without any baggage but memories. The Taxi is programed to drive us directly to an undeserved mansion in glory where it’s beauty and purity and perfection should remain undisturbed by the memory of unsettled accounts.
I for one want to confess my brothers that just being of earth my body of flesh although purified, justified and sanctified has many times allowed the dust of the ground of this world to contaminate my feet.
In tears have I gone in shame to sweet Jesus to wash my feet in the warm waters of his reconciling love and forgiveness.
Would you please forgive me of that which Jesus has already forgiven me? My account with Jesus has been and will remind settled. If you are of Jesus, you will certainly find grace and mercy in your heart and love me in Jesus’s name forgiven me for no other reason but to have together memories to share and rejoice in heaven.
The Gospel of Jesus is a Gospel of repentance for the forgiveness of sin. Should you find difficult on this earth to forgive my offenses, “Remember Jesus in you is the hope of glory.”
As they say, “See you here, there or in the air.” But for sure in our “Hood” next door to father Abraham. Looking forward to hangout in the garden at the cool of the day in the playpen with Jesus. I can’t wait!
“Your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as in Heaven.” YES!
Your Gerry with a “G”.
