The Gold mine of prayer.

 

Before we launch ourselves into the gold mine of prayer, let’s consider the verse where Jesus says, “Whenever 2 or 3 gather together in my name, I am in their midst and if you agree according to my will, you can ask whatever you want and it shall be done for you.” “Nothing is impossible for him who believes.”

 

There is power in taking Jesus at his word, that is Faith and Prayer, which in other words is just repeating after Jesus nothing but the Word and the Will of God.

 

Once this is a reality then we are in position to ask “Whatever” from God knowing that it would be impossible to ask anything wrong if the mind and will of Christ is ours in agreement dwelling within us. The first evidence is that we have not a will of our own to interfere with Jesus in us, the hope of glory.

 

Now let us address some specific issues of our time to illustrate our point.

The drought of Egypt in Joseph’s Time, the drought of Israel in Elijah’s time, the Spanish flu, the Chinese flu, the pandemic of the Coronavirus COVID-19 of our time, are not events that have escaped the sovereign control of God, but are events that God allows with the same purpose as in the past to prepare and desire his people for his second coming.

 

In the past God never did anything without first letting his servants the prophets know what he was about to do. Read Amos 3:7 “Surely the sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plans to his servants the prophets.”

 

If the servants of the Lord of our time are puzzled like the rest of the secular world, that is a sign that the mind of Jesus is absent from their thoughts and therefore the will of God is also absent. In those conditions Faith and Prayer will be powerless and without answer. Nothing discourages the new believer more than prayers without answer. In these cases Santa Claus is more of a god than the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

 

By the same token Faith and Prayer according to the Word and Will of God is so powerful that the believer is full of encouragement and already lives heaven on earth in the here and now under the sun.

 

The confrontation of the prophets of Baal and Elijah was the confrontation of Faith and Prayer between one Faithful man against 400 follower of Baal. It was seemingly a confrontation of flesh and blood but in essence it was the confrontation of the spiritual kind. It was the confrontation of faith and prayer to examine, show and expose where men’s confidence rests.

 

It was about what you believe and in whom you believe in order to pray to the object of your faith under penalty of death.

Those who are on the Lord’s side should, in the same way as Elijah, not fear the outcome of their Faith and Prayer if they are according to the Word and Will of God.

 

As the popular proverb says, “Put your money where your mouth is.” I am willing to stand up for Jesus as he stood up for me. I will hand over the stones to be stoned to death if you get together with two or three and by Faith believe and Pray according to the Word and the Will of God and if there is no answer to that kind of Faith and Prayer, then stone me to death.

 

My boldness comes not from any inner strength or secret fortitude but from taking Jesus at his word in a childlike manner.

 

Try believing in prayer before you pray.

Try taking Jesus at his word.

Try praying according to the Word of God only.

Try praying according to his Will alone.

 

If there is no answer to your prayers but you have in clean conscience pray according to the condition set by Jesus then stone me. I will be happy to depart from this world if Jesus does not keep his word.

Beware as you enter into this arena this kind of confrontation because your life will be on the line and you will end up either on the Lord’s side as Elijah or on Baal’s side as the false prophets of Baal.

 

I write this in fear and confidence in utter loneliness without an army behind me, but the Lord of Hosts and a great lady whose flour and oil does not run out provides blessed help from above for her family and me.

 

Man was created to depend from God; but in search of independence he fell from grace. Ever since then man is in constant reach for Paradise Lost mostly in his own religious strength. Crisis periodically visits earth so man can see for himself where his confidence rests. We all are being tested.

 

Last week from the bully pulpit of a liberal cable TV channel’s secular news agency a scientist mocked believers and God himself saying, “Prayer does not do anything but Medicine and science does.” Right there and right then I decided to accelerate my book on prayer titled, “Yes Jesus.”

 

Again, I am feeling like Elijah, small and lonely but brave enough to stand up for my Jesus against the 400 plus prophets of Baal and in front of a watching world with people in great need of God’s kingdom to come by Faith.

 

Let them believe in the Baal’s of this world, and put their trust in lifeless idols and pray out loud to Baal to wake him up from his long nap.

 

As for my house and me we will trust in the Lord our God.

 

It is not the pandemic the issue of the day. It is a matter of Faith and Prayer.

It is what we believe and then whom we believe.

It is an exam to find out where our confidence rests.

It is to find out how ready we are for finals.

Beware, ready or not Jesus is coming and he’s coming soon.

 

The choice is clear, Jesus or Baal. Pray according to your faith and choose now. Pray loud and clear with two or three or more and expose your agreement and share the same destiny with those who will pray with you as partners in Jesus name.

 

As for me as my house and my friends we will believe and pray in agreement according to the World on the Will of God in Jesus’s name.

 

Remember, “Cursed is the man who trusts another man. Cursed is the man who puts his confidence in the flesh.” By Faith in the name of Jesus and his Word and Will let us Pray in agreement with the mind of Jesus. All things will be a prayer away, that is if you repeat after Jesus in obedience and pray the Lord’s Prayer.

 

Jesus said. “This, then, is how you should Pray.”

“Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive our sins as we forgive those who sin against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. “Yes Jesus”.

 

John 15:7, “If you abide in me and my words abide in you ask whatever you want and it shall be done unto you.”
