"Yes Jesus." Let us Pray series # 2.
Faith and Prayer according to the Word and the Will of God. F=PW2
Once upon a time our Lord convicted me of how little I knew about matters of Faith and Prayer. I also discovered that to believe in God is easier than to believe and understand Prayer.
Since my childhood I have carefully sought to understand Faith and Prayer. In the process I have discovered the amazing unity of Faith, Prayer, the Word, and the Will of God which I am about to share with you in the following letters.
“Therefore, Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” What one hears is in order to speak and one learns to speak by repeating after the Lord who said “This, then, is how you should pray.” (Repeat after me).
Faith and Prayer are one and the same thing. They are from God according to the Word and the Will of God. Again, Faith is equal to Prayer under the Word and the Will of God. F=PW2.
All I am asking is to take Jesus at his word in a childlike manner.
Just like the term existence needs four inseparable elements to make sense in the visible world, so does the four terms in the invisible and spiritual world go together.
Material existence is only possible with the following four elements that our Lord so masterfully and wisely speaks in Genesis 1:1, answering the future questions for all ages to come: “God in the beginning created the heavens and the earth and the Spirit of God moved over the waters.”
Someone = God. Sometime ago= In the beginning. Somewhere= Heavens. Something= Earth. Somehow = Holy Spirit.
In other words:
Sometime ago= Time. Somewhere= Space. Something= Matter. Somehow= Movement. We know that something is because someone created it and that is God. We know that something is because it had a beginning in Time. We know that something is because it's been placed in heaven, that is Space. We know that something is because we can see the world and that is Matter. We know that something is because it's in motion and that is movement.
What’s more striking is that the four elements must have come into being at the same time in a nanosecond.
Just as they appeared together out of nothing, they will also disappear together to nothingness swallowed by the eternal and the infinite.
In the same way in the spiritual and invisible world, Faith, Prayer, the Word and the Will of God also go inseparably together or they are non-existent.
When you consider from scripture that life is from the breath of God that blew into our nostrils you have to conclude that life is supernatural and belongs to God. Belonging not as my pen belongs to me but as my arms belong to my body. Life does not need the material for its existence but only as a house to dwell for a while. The body is the temple of the Spirit.
Since we are of God and from God and for God, we are eternal and infinite without beginning and end. If you ask where were we before the creation of the world? The only fitting answer is that as spiritual beings we were in the thoughts of God eternal. Therefore, prayer is supernatural and it will be futile to trace the roots of prayer within space-time matter and movement.
Like a menacing cat who plays with the yarn of a lady, man has made a mess out of theology. He has created a view of life so complicated that what is worse we no longer treasure the four Gospels but live by the fifth Gospel which is the edited version of the four Gospels.
God’s desire was to share his glory and enjoy his children forever.
As a father, all that I want is to share and fellowship with my children, family, and friends in communion with God which is common union based on communication.
The only way to truly communicate is by trusting in the revealed word of God, which in essence is not a concept or a phrase or sentence or even a verb, but a person and that is Jesus the word of God in the flesh.
All the teachings of Jesus, beginning in the garden at the cool of the day all the way to the Garden of Gethsemane and including the priestly prayer of Jesus was communication with God in prayer.
The essence of prayer is to reflect the agreement, unity, and oneness of the reconciliation with God in Jesus. Without it a prayer is nonexistent and powerless.
Confusion comes when men, trying to make a name for themselves have placed the truths of scripture on the higher shelf only at the reach of the high and mighty or the so called “Super apostles.”
To organize too much as if prayer is a business meeting of a corporation and not a delicate and totally Holy Communion with God in the innermost will make the house of God a den of robbers. When the form robs from the content, a man is treasuring the banana peel as more precious than the banana.
When that which is spiritual is organized in physical terms, man has the tendency to compartmentalize the elements of prayer as ingredients in order to pray “politically correct.”
But agreement itself and reconciliation and unity are power in and by themselves that eventually goes inseparable and together. There is power in faith by virtue of the fact that we are not dealing with a concept but rather a person and that person is Jesus and Jesus cannot be divided against himself.
Whatever you think of prayer, remember that Prayer is not negotiation with God. The power of prayer is “Jesus in you the hope of glory.” Once Jesus is in you the Godhead is in you. The Godhead loves to be in communion with himself and you become a guest of honor in Jesus of that communion with the Father.
At any cost avoid the syndrome of them and us with the Godhead and think that in your unity with God and the power of the most-high God will be yours to do His will. His will alone is to do the greater things that Jesus promised and expects for us to do.
