“Defining life.”

 

 “If you cannot say it in a few words, you probably don’t understand it yourself.” Albert Einstein.

 

Once upon a time my grandmother told me, “Live life as a mortal being who will die once and after that appear for judgment before God.”

 

This was grandma’s way of teaching me the fear of the Lord as the beginning of knowledge. This principle has tempered my behavior in all aspects of my life.  Otherwise, I could have been worse than what I became. The day of reckoning or the day of accountability is imminent.

 

Amazingly and by God’s grace alone I also understood the three simple elements of life.

 

Listening to God. “Devotional life.”

Talking to God.    “Prayer life”

Tell others about that relationship with God.

 “That is a life of witness to God in Jesus.”

 

I can Listen and for that, I only need ears to hear.

I can Talk and for that I only need a mouth to speak. 

I can Witness and for that I only need intimacy with God. 

 

Even in witnessing I would only say what I got from him. Knowing his will give me the advantage of knowing the end from the beginning.

 

What is there to talk to God about that he does not already know and has taught me? My only contribution and wise answer to God in prayer is to say, “Yes Jesus.” Making out of my Yes, “Yes.”

 

What is there to talk to God about as if there was a need for God to listen to my input into anything? My task as a human being is to teach others what I have learned and that is to say “Yes Jesus”.

 

The beauty of my teaching is that as I teach others, I do not only learn twice but I put myself beyond the point of no return and far from the gates of hell. 

 

Let us not make theology a complicated thing. Let us not become indispensable for people to know and love God.

Truth is as clear and as transparent as a pure glass of water.

Woe unto him who muddied the clean waters of the gospel of Jesus and make the church a den of robbers.

 

God will not have for innocent those who are making the house of the Lord a place of business instead of a house of prayer.

 

Why not just teach the Lord's Prayer in its shortest version and that is Amen! Or “Yes Jesus!” Or so be it Lord!

 

When the body is connected in oneness with the head, the head does not consult the body where to go and the body is happy to follow the leadership of the head.  Let Jesus think and lead us and let every man be mute and dumb happy followers of Jesus.

 

In a few words, life is to learn to pray by listening and then by faith just say “Yes Jesus” to his word and will. (F=PW2). People will see your life and fear God. People will know that you are the disciples of Jesus by your love for one another. The New Commandment of Jesus is to love one another as he has loved us.

PS. Let me confess to you that the rate of knowing God in intimacy is such in my life that my capacity to explain it is incapable to do justice to Jesus’s love and grace in my life. 

By the way, it is ok to celebrate in Jesus the blessing of being an American by the grace of God.
