“This, then is how you should pray”

“Our Father who art in Heaven.” # 14.

 

If prayer can be accomplished in us, what these six words are meant to communicate into our hearts and minds; we would be so different that nothing would be impossible. 

 

While we are in this world there is still a gap between what we say we believe and what we really believe. 

 

When the words “Our father who art in Heaven” becomes a total reality in our lives, in that moment our souls will experience a transubstantiation of our own so that it will be hard for us to even recognize ourselves. Then God will not find it difficult to say of us “This is my son whom I love, in him I am well pleased, listen to him.”

 

Individually, we have an intermittent in and out experience on the beauty of prayer with “My father who art in heaven.” It will only be a floodlight when two or three agree in the mind of Christ and pray “Our father who art in heaven.” Then all things will be a prayer away. 

 

Our Lord encourages us to pray not only by teaching how to pray but promising us beforehand the outcome of any prayer presented in agreement with one another and according to his will. 

 

God Our Father in heaven only answers prayers according to his will. There is only one will that rules Heaven and the same will should rule on earth which is his footstool.
