Gerry Gutierrez' Update

Love cannot be silenced.

“Those who hurt twice are blessed twice.”

A perfectly healthy woman comes to Jesus asking for mercy. She is not the one suffering but her daughter who is under the tormenting power of demons.

The law of love and loving from a mother for her daughter is such that only Jesus understands because he so loved the world.

It is to Jesus that the Canaanite woman is crying out in prayer. But it is the disciples of Jesus that find her offensive for being such a bold prayer warrior. Instead of sympathizing with her as fellow human beings and peers the disciple’s best idea is to get rid of her.

“Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”

Notice that this perfectly healthy woman is hurting twice as much. First for the suffering of her beloved daughter’s pain and suffering and second because there is nothing she can do for her little girl that she loves.

The law of love ruled the Canaanite woman’s prayer life. Jesus knew such a love and he understood her.

The disciples were offended in her coming to Jesus without their permission and intercession. Instead of sympathy they were offended twice. Once for daring to exercise her faith without their approval and second reacting with rejection in the name of Jesus saying, “She keeps crying out after “us.”

Poor little “us” who do not even have the power or authority to send her away.

Do not be surprised when you exercise your faith in boldness. You might offend the “Powerless super apostles” who are “super” in name only. If the laws of love do not make you hurt twice for those around you, then ask yourself if Jesus in you is truly the hope of glory or you are just a “FINO.” That is Follower In Name Only.

If as a bruised reed and smoldering wick you go to Jesus hurting twice for the pain of others, you will be twice blessed as you hear from Jesus’ tender voice: “women, you have a great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour. Matthew 15:28.

In the same way I claim to Jesus with you as my witness. “Lord, Son of David have mercy on me. My brothers and sisters are under attack suffering terrible isolation because of the demons. Have mercy on me that I might find grace in your eyes so I can help them in clean conscience and love them, for I myself am under much attack from the evil one.” Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me!

Keep me as the apple of your eyes.
