Sunday tips for your quarantine.

Dear Friends,

Here are some, “Sunday tips for the quarantine.”

Someone said, “If you’re used to being alone, be careful of the crowds, if you’re used to being with others be careful when you are alone.”

The quarantine, will revealed the best and the worst of us to those around us.

There will be a time of questionings and I have found in life that honesty, sincerity and truthfulness are the best policy. If somebody asks you a question that you do not know, please say, “I don’t know the answer but I will try to find out.”

Scripture teaches, “Don’t be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and shun evil.” Proverbs.” 3:7.

Fifty years ago, when I was searching for Jesus, I befriended a missionary from Scotland. While others seem to know all the answers that in actuality they didn’t, this Scottish Presbyterian missionary to whom I asked a difficult question said, “I don’t know the answer to that question Gerry, but I will try to find out.”

I trace my conversion to Jesus to the honesty, sincerity and humility of this man who was humble enough to acknowledge that which he did not know.

To me the Proverb, “A man, wise in his own eyes,” had a powerful impact.

If you feel that you must say something to those that ask you questions it is all right to say, “I don’t know that but this is my opinion.” Sincerely and off record or ex cathedra share your opinions, but never give scriptural validity to your own speculation.

False prophets in the past said, “Thus says the Lord when the Lord had not spoken.” These foolish men were mocking God and his Truth and the Lord did not hold them for innocent. Refrain from becoming a self-appointed prophet.

On the other hand, it is biblical to answer to some silly questions, “It is not for you to know.” Acts 1:7.

The point is also to remind the believer that, “The secret things of God belong to God, but the revealed things belong to us and to our children forever.”

Fear not in your Sunday meditation with family and friends. Go all the way back to Jesus and his Gospel of repentance for the forgiveness of sin. After all Jesus is the solid food while everything else is milk.

You Sunday school first responder of Jesus on duty, at the crack of down.
