Gerry Gutierrez' Update
Searching for a man like Diogenes with a
lamp at noonday light. Dear friends,
consider in prayer to apply for this opening, "Up to half of my kingdom for a
prayer partner.” Ever since I
heard the words of Jesus offering his blessed presence to those two or three
who gathered together in his name and in “Agreement” according to the will of
God the Father as the condition to have the answer to their prayers, it’s been
open season for me in my hunting expedition for such men. Nothing has cost
me more than to dare to seek such partner. My daughter Keila was such a hunter at the University of Delaware. It almost
literally killed her in search of someone to “agree” because she “bought” the
words of Jesus, like I did and she invested herself on the hunting expedition
of one who would pray with her in “agreement.” She would call to
tell me like Elijah the prophet, “Dad, sometimes I feel like I am the only one
left in the army of the Lord that I want to die of discouragement.” Keila’s zeal for the Lord made her intolerant to
those around her who professed to be believers in Jesus but their moral lives
left much to be desired. She would ask me
to “agree” with her in tears of anger to pray that they would be removed from
leadership roles because in her view they were a stumbling block to the “little
ones of the Lord.” Keila was surrounded by people that she loved
but in reality she was very “lonely” due to her zeal for the house of the Lord. The fuel for Keila’s stamina came from the conviction that Jesus also
suffered the impossible for loving us and she wanted to be like her Master and
Lord. Her last Text, only two hours before she died was, “I am not feeling
good Dad. I want you to call the family and agree to pray for me that the
Lord’s will be done in me.” Thus peacefully she died sitting in a chair next to
a table with her head bowing down over her chest. Much in the same
way and as the paraphrased popular proverbs says, “the
oak tree does not grow far from the acorn.” I am afraid that my hunting
expedition has led me to become like an Island unto myself. I refuse to
die without proving Jesus was right. There is
unlimited power for those who by faith take Jesus at his word and in a
childlike manner gather together in “agreement” and Pray according to the will
of God as revealed in scripture. This principle is
clearly expressed in the equation: F=PW2, that is Faith is equal to
Prayer under the Will and Word of God. So when two or
three agree together in the name of Jesus “all things are YES” and it cannot be
any other way. It is not like a law, “IT’S THE LAW” of prayer that rules
Christendom. Some may think
that I have been radicalized on the matter of prayer or become like one string
banjo player or like an overinflated bicycle on one section of the tire that
causes a bump that annoys the rider. But I say at 72
and still in my right mind, “There are things worth dying in pursue of that
really exist even if you have never lay you own eyes on them and let alone get
a shot at them.” Every great pearl of great price is worth all you have
and all you are to purchase it. “The kingdom of
God is not a matter of words but of power.” My word is all I
have. Therefore, I stand by my offer to “up to half of my kingdom of what I
have, what I know, what I can, and what I am for a prayer partner who can agree
with me in the mind of Jesus and change the world through the power of Prayer”. Many a friend has
fallen sleep short of one hour like with Jesus in the mountain of Gethsemane. Would you like to
be the other blind man by the side of the road who claims with loud voice to the
Son of David to have mercy on us? Before you apply
for the job you must know the requisites: Know that our aim
will be nothing but to resume Fellowship back in the garden at the cool of the
day with Jesus. “To hang out with
Jesus, or bust.” Waiting for your
application as the watchman waits for the morning, yes, as the watchman waits
for the morning.” This was your woke up call on duty. Have a blessed
Sunday with Jesus in the playpen. Gerry Gutierrez.
