Gerry Gutierrez' Update
A small cup of Coffee for your Sunday Morning my friends. “ADVERSITY.” “Soldiers are created for adversity so civilians can rest a little
as they eat their daily bread in the tranquility within the walls of the City.” A watchman in the tower is the “warning voice” of the soldiers. Not “if” adversity comes, but “
when” adversity comes. When “Kingdoms are still in conflict” adversity will
come as surely as the Sun will rise in the morning. The coming of adversity is like the arrival of a storm. Rain and storm, winds and darkness all at once comes to test the
foundation of a man’s life and house. If in secret intimacy and silent obedience a man has builds his
life and house in the rocky foundation of the Word of God, he will pass the
test. That day the man will live in quietness and confidence inside his house
with his family only to see through the window as “on a snow day of
cancellation of classes and work,” drinking hot chocolate in front of a his
fire place. Waters might leak and power lines might go off and disturbed some
of his neighbor’s houses, but the warmth of the home of the faithful and
obedient will be dry and go undisturbed. Take Jesus at his word and you will live long enough to see
adversity come and go and leave behind blessings for you only to count them one
by one. I should know a thing or two about adversity because I am also a
man of sorrows and acquainted with grief from whom even his love ones hide their
faces as one not attractive enough to be associated. My rehab is not working as fast as I would like. I even
think it is going backwards... but in the midst of it all the one things remain
clear and that is that weakness in the body and the flesh does not mean
weakness in the spirit. By God’s Grace, Love, compassion and mercy I have been
awarded with an unprecedented helplessness but at the same time I have never
been stronger in the Lord. Thank you Jesus.
