Gerry Gutierrez' Update

Conflict is the "normal" for a soldier of Jesus. Rest is also secured.

“Never a waste.”

If the control freaks were a few, I would ignore them as non existent and that would be the end of their story.

But the consuming thirst for control makes even the seemingly “godly men” into blind men that even Jesus did not escape their indignant rebuke.

Our story begins with a woman who came to Jesus with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on the head of Jesus as he was reclining at the table in the house of Simon the Leper in Bethany.

When the disciples saw this, they were indignant.
Why this waste? They asked. This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor.”

For some who seem to worship the word “stewardship and accountability” it might seem to be proper to think of the poor more than of the Lord.

But the words of Jesus on behalf of the women who are pregnant with approval, acceptance and above all with unprecedented complement that it is of imperative necessity to join our voices of behalf of those who give their best to Jesus and suffer scorn as a result.

If God in Jesus is worth anything, he is worth our best. “My Outmost for his Highest.”

When I look at my own life and I survey what can I bring to my beautiful Savior I have nothing in my hands that he would need or want but the fragile alabaster jar of my fragile body that still has some sand left in the sand clock of my days with some daylight at the sunset of my life.

Nothing is more precious to an old man than his time because as he spends his time he spends the balance of his life.

But to the control freaks who are wise in their own eyes have better ideas for other peoples lives. They want you to go here or there and if you do not obey they plot behind your back and send their coward hit men to bully you around with official but non official “Gag orders” and abusive language full of indignation.

Those who are impressed with themselves and their doings will fail to see what is beautiful in the sight of God and what is not so beautiful.

Take heart my brothers and sisters in Jesus. It will never be a waste when you give to Jesus “that” which is the most precious to you.

We cannot please men and God at the same time.

When a man finds that which is worth breaking his alabaster jar on Jesus, he is a happy man at peace with himself and with Jesus and the Father who loves Jesus and as He is well pleased with him.

Listen to Jesus say, “She has done a beautiful thing to me.”
Remember the words “To me”.

My grandson Simeon is my prayer partner and he his sharing with me "His first fruits".

I think his "one toothless" smile is so beautiful and that will cost me a trip to "Panda Express" Chinese restaurant for the whole family as stipulated by the tooth fairy.
