Gerry Gutierrez' Update

Your midweek snack design to encourage you my friend.

“Our State of the Union with God in Jesus.”

Because of Jesus and his work on the cross on our behalf we are no longer with the gates of Hell ahead of us but behind us.

We live in the post resurrection era that demands and triumphant militancy from the part of the believer that must never settle in belief only but and active and aggressive following of Jesus.

Salvation is not yet to come, it has come and gone to return with a myriads of angels coming as harvesters with Sickle in hand. There to gather together the weeds to be burned with unquenchable fire while at the same time gathering the wheat in the granary of God.

The finished work of Jesus is being devaluated to the point that some think the Messiah is yet to come for the first time.

The secret of true enlightenment is not a matter of going deeper into scripture to squeeze the juice that the feeble hands of theologians have not squeeze hard enough.

My dear brothers and friends, the secret of enlightenment is not in the things never spoken, never written, or never heard, but is in going back to the basics. It is going back to our first love; it is in going back to Bethlehem; it is going back to Jerusalem, it is going back to Calvary to lift Jesus and see how he will draw all men into himself.

Apart from the resurrection of Jesus there is no hope but to make fools of ourselves by the distractions of religion, events, and the never ending activity of a militancy without a leader. That is as good as a head without body floating down the river singing, “I ain’t got no body”.

Hollywood and the secular media have sold us the idea that Jesus is not the Lord.  If that is not enough, the defeated Satan and his followers are louder than the children of light, and they are hissing in our ears the same lies that the serpent whispered in mother Eve’s ears.

“Beware little ears of what you hear”; because belief and unbelief are still matters of faith.  Faith comes by hearing and hearing from the word of God or the word of the serpent.

What you hear most will occupy your mind. A man is only as good as his thoughts. As the Proverbs say, “As the man thinks, so is he.”

If you think too much about food, you will become a glutton.
If you think too much about money, you will become greedy.
If you think too much about sex, you will become a pervert.
If you think too much about Jesus, you will become like Jesus, thinking like Jesus and talk like him and do things like Jesus.

God the Father wants you to be like his Son Jesus.
God the Son wants you to be like Jesus humble and meek.
God the Holy Spirit wants to help you to be like Jesus.

What keeps you from being like Jesus? “The world, the devil, and the flesh.” Thank God that none of these are stronger than God, as Jesus said, “From my Father’s hands no one can snatch you away.”

All you have to do is to take Jesus at his word in a childlike manner and the shield of faith will protect you always just as the faith of Jesus in the Father protected him while he was on earth.

Wonder no more about why Jesus said, “As the Father has sent me, so send I you.” The State of our Union with God in Jesus is that we are under care and we are endowed with a vision for missions to be done in the certainty that we are already passed the gates of Hell with our eyes fixed in the pearly gates.

We are heading back home to the garden, to resume fellowship at the cool of the day with Jesus just as before when we were in the loins of Adam and Eve and when we use to enjoy hanging out in the playpen with Jesus and each other.

Our State of our Union with God in Jesus is secure, for if it were not so I would have told you. This is your private Herald.
