Three Goodbye
letters as I leave to Peru this week. Please Pray for me. Warnings from the US Embassy in Lima Peru “Travelers advisory for Peru.” Dear beloved “Theophilus” and friends, Thank you so much for calling my attention to the travelers
advisory to Peru and the dangers that they warn about “The Shining Path” and
violence that the US Embassy has detected lately in Peru. As I said in my previous text to you yesterday, The Shining Path
terrorist movement as an ideological movement capable to overthrow the
government is gone. But the remnant that refuses to die is very much alive and
dangerously unpredictable because it is led by radicals that
flourishes when the political leadership of the country is weak. They
seek publicity by attacking soft targets to keep alive and relevant for the
sake of their remnant. Nathaniel is also very concerned and his counsel is also sober as
he sees that the combination of terrorist and drug trafficking in Huanta being deadly serious. We are praying about hiring a body guard because I have “Telegraphed” my trip to Huanta. Many know of my going to Huanta
and it will be easier to set me up for an attempt beause
for them I am still a “traitor”. I am changing
plans in regards to having daily lunches with the children in the Restaurant of
my friend Mery and her cook Agripina. The Restaurant is a public place and that makes it easy for anyone
to blend with the customers and get into the Restaurant as client but actually
have sinister motivation against m, the children and Mery plus other people in the restaurant. You will agree
with me that it is easy to imagine any young man entering the restaurant with
his backpack to eat and after eating set their device and walk away unnoticed. Since we cannot control public access, I am planning to have the
lunches in our own house. It will be more difficult but doable. It will also
save me from daily going across town to the Restaurant of Mery
and establishing a predictable routine. Part of my vision for the lunches was to witness to the people of Huanta with twelve little kids getting together like in a
little huddle in one side of the restaurant to sing, pray and have so much fun
eating together a good meal “with Uncle Gerry.” I just got a letter from the City Council approving the lunches
and they said that some of those children come to school having not eaten any
food. Please pray for the mind of Jesus to take over in me and
fearlessly go about his business in the knowledge that I am truly immortal,
untouchable, indestructible and invincible until my appointed time set for me
before the world begun. Pray that I might be like Jesus who believes always what he said
to believe, because that is our testimony as followers of Jesus. Pray also that there is no “hubris” or any fleshly desired for the
heroic in me apart from the will of God for my life which includes like in the
case of Joseph, Mary and Jesus getting up at midnight and fleeing “to Egypt”
from my own “Herod” the Son of Esau who hates the son of Jacob of whom by faith

II” It is God
the Father who so loved the world that he sent his one an only Son that whosoever believes in
him might not perish but have everlasting life “Peace, belief, following and hoping are
rain drops from heaven.” I have peace in Jesus because heaven was open at his birth and angels broke the
sound barrier and spoke about the glory of God in the highest and peace over
men in whom his favor rests. I believe in Jesus because the heavens were open and the Holy Spirit came down over
Jesus in his Baptism and God the Father spoke to
Jesus as his Son and the son of Adam and Joseph. I follow Jesus because Heaven was open at the mountain of transfiguration and God
the Father introduced Jesus as his beloved son in whom he is well
pleased and to whom we must listen. I hope in Jesus because heaven will once again open wide one day not too far from now at his
return for me and for all those in whom God’s favor rests and have by grace
chosen to believe the Word of God the Father and follow Jesus
at the command of God the Father. In hope we wait as the watchman
waits for the morning, yes, as the watchman waits for the morning. I HAVE PEACE BELIEVING AND FOLLOWING AND HOPING IN JESUS BECAUSE
IT IS THE WILL OF GOD THE FATHER. My eyes are fixed on heaven and the return of Jesus as God
the Father has so ordained. This is the grand father of Simeon Osman Gutierrez who also waits
for the consolation of Israel. Gerry Gutiérrez. “Jesus knew how to make a conversation at
age twelve.” “Jesus amazed the
doctors of the Law.” What amazed the
doctors of the Law of Jesus at twelve was not that he was lecturing to them of
things never heard or spoken, but the understanding of Jesus about the
things of God at twelve. “After three
days they found Jesus in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers,
listening to them and asking them questions. Every one who heard him was amazed
at his understanding and his answers”. In other words,
Jesus “got it” and knew how to talk to teachers as equals in the things of God. Teachers
and doctors of the law as preacher of our times are people that are frustrated
that people do not understand their teaching. Not so with Jesus at twelve.
”He got it the first time around.” Nothing is more
rewarding to a teacher than he who sits under his teaching actually
understands. Why is understanding such a big deal?
Yes!! Amen!!! And
