Gerry Gutierrez' Update
The best of how to testify as the witness
of Jesus. “Jesus is pleased with God the Father.” “Jesus praises the Father.” Once upon a time Jesus was heard to say, “I praise you
Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the
wise and learned, and revealed them to the little children. Yes, Father, because
this was your good pleasure.” Once again today my heart joins to Jesus in praises to the Father
over the fact that the “cookie jar” of Truth has been placed in the lower shelf
of God’s pantry at the reach of little ones, lest they might fall by claiming
into the upper shelf where only the tall and the high and mighty learned have
access. In fact, the good pleasure of God is to play, “hide and go seek “
with the high and mighty, that should they want to eat cookies, they must come
down from their “high horses” and perhaps at night looking left and right like
Nicodemus and “come to Jesus for rest” on bended knees for Food for Thought. Let me share a secret with you, if you have been wondering why I
write as I do, it is not under the conviction to be a “ Writer”, no, it is
because I take Jesus at his word in a childlike manner and I believe of me to
be “God’s Boy Scout cookie seller.” Today’s verse of the day says, “Come to me, all you who
are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28. After just few hours of sleep I woke up very tired from having
fought spiritual forces even in my dreams. After a brief greeting to the
Trinity I went to the Word of God as a fish gulping for air. I was please
to clearly hear the invitation of Jesus to come to him for “rest”, because I am
weary and burdened after an overnight struggle and every day rehab sessions. After the first bite from the “cookie jar” of the Word of God, I
could not settle for anything but for more “cookie from the same jar of today’s
verse”, and sure enough I found Matthew 11:25 to 30. The Father
Revealed in the Son 25At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because
you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to
little children. 26Yes, Father, for this is what you were
pleased to do. 27“All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows
the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those
to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. 28“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give
you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is
light.”
Tell me if you see what I see, behind the big broken curtain from
top to bottom. Can you see God making it easy to be found by his little ones
like you and me? If for some reason you fail to see what Jesus saw in the Father
what cause him to Praise his Father out loud, then let me suggest trying to
adopt for your life the principal of “Pray and Play”. Imagine that you
are back in the Garden at the cool of the day just like in Adam we use to pray
and play with Jesus before the fall. Then let us sing together, “I am resting, I am resting in the
revelation of God the Father in Jesus.” Let us finish by saying with
Jesus. “YES, Father, this was your good pleasure.” “To hide and to
reveal.” “To hide and go seek that which was lost by revelation.” ”Easter is coming, let us adults play along with out children our
own version of “Easter egg hunting” by joining our Father the Lord of Heaven
and Earth and seek in Jesus, God himself hiding in a man. Please imagine the joy of the Lord and that of his Son Jesus and
the household of faith as he reveals a preview of his character and the things
yet to come so we can find rest from our weary and burdensome days and nights. This was your woke up call my dear fellow Boy Scouts and Girl
Scouts cookie sellers of Jesus. Whatever you think of this passage, you must not fail to notice
the joyful adoration of Jesus to his Father as one who is pleased to have a
loving father to Jesus and to us his little ones. The contrary is the most precious reality as the joyful testimony
of Jesus helps us to see the invisible Father Lord of heaven and earth as one
PLEASED with himself and Jesus the revelation of God. 20Brothers and sisters, stop thinking like
children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults 1 Cor.
