Gerry Gutierrez' Update
"God's me too movement". A Sunday Food for Thought. “God’s me too movement.” “I count” In an age of I phones, I pod, I Mac, I talk, I
tunes, I cloud ...I thought it only proper to make an echo to our time and add
our names under the “ GOD’S ME TOO MOVEMENT”, such as Tertius
and his “I count” movement in Romans 16:22. When he introduces himself
and says, “I Tertius,
who wrote down this letter, greet you in the Lord.” Jude, “I Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and a
brother of James.” John, “I the Elder.” Peter, “I Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ.” James, “I James, a servant of God and the Lord Jesus.” Paul, “I Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus,
called to be an apostle and set apart
for the gospel of God. Gerry, “I Gerry a lover of Jesus and husband of Ruthie
and the father of Keila, a self appointed
prophet of the poor among Gods elect strangers in the world, scattered
throughout Peru, America, Asia, Europe, and Africa who have been chosen by God
the Father for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by the blood.” “Grace and peace be yours
in abundance.” Everyone who writes letters to the elect of God
must established his credentials in the name of Jesus first and his human
relationship among those who say in their heart “Me too” and “I count,” for
Jesus. The daunting task of a
follower of Jesus is to not impart more information or instructions than
God has already given to us in his own 66 love letters, which is all the
information we need. What the world needs more
than anything else from me is to teach them to obey everything Jesus has
already taught us. I know no
other way to teach this to others than with my own commitment to obeying
Jesus or dying in the attempt to motivate others with my own obedience. The bottom line is that what my God
desires and my fellow believer needs most from me is my intimacy with
God; for without it I have nothing to offer to anyone.
“The righteous shall live by faith.” Like Abraham who believed God and it
was credited to him as righteousness.” But the heart of our meditation today is that
Faith is a gift of God, so we believe in God as the result of his own
provision and grace. “We are dispensers of Faith
by believing in God.” But the other side of the coin is just as important.
“We are consumers of faith.” “The righteous shall live by consuming faith.” “I need to know that God believes in me just as much I need to
believe in him.” In the same way I need the belief and faith and trust of my
fellow believer in me.” I feed on trust and flourish to no end. How can I say I believe and love God to whom I
have not seen if I do not believe and love my BROTHER to whom I have seen?” We must workout in fear and trembling what God
has worked in us. We must try to make the invisible God visible to
our fellow believers as Jesus made His Father visible to us. And to make our joy complete we must try our
level best to keep a pure heart as we evaluate one another when we claim to be
of Jesus and give each other the benefit of the doubt until we have
biblical reason to stop trusting. Let us not fly over people like vultures
that ignore the little flowers behind the rocks but instead focus
on the dead and stinking body of a deceased animal on the ground. Anyone is an expert in fault finding. In an
age of grace and mercy, sins are there for a reason and one reason
only. To be forgiven and to give us the opportunities to be
like God--gracious, merciful and generous. Why not join the “Me too movement of God “
by writing and encouraging the body of Jesus by saying, “I (put your name
and credentials), write you this letter and send you my greetings.” Be a Tertius for the
sake of the elect of God who are scattered around the world and are hungry and
thirsty to hear from you. Make your life count. Tell others that they
exist in your thoughts. If we do not build each other we will end up
like many whose life exists only to cry out and say “I am somebody.” and
many will join them in a “Me too movement of their own making”. This world is very cold,
dark, violent and utterly lonely. You might be the only Jesus that many will
see in their lifetime. Be willing to dispense and consume faith
in fellowship with God and his saints--that is our inheritance on this
earth. I, Gerry, a lover of
Jesus, called to encourage the elect of God in Jesus, bless you with Grace
and Peace in abundance. Gerry Gutierrez. PS. My Ruthie “Trusted me”. This month she would have been 72.
