Stop treating God as if he does not exist.

 

People say in my country that a Stallion kind of a rooster when it reaches old age, lays an egg as his last act in life. I have never seen such an egg or a rooster flying off the coupe in happy relief to have laid and egg.

 

For me to publish my book on prayer is becoming like that only egg I am terrified to lay it because its long pregnancy has been hard and painful that I fear the day of delivery. I sympathize with Sarah and Abraham at having the one and only child at old age.

 

The following article is like the pains of contraction of which my wife was so use to it, but I have no idea what it is like. Since I feel activity in my mind I will see if by breathing deep and pushing I can come up with some sort of a partial birth to at least show a hand so I can mark it because it my be twins.

 

Here we go...!

Much of prayer has become to me more of a silent mental transaction whereby I talk less and less and let Jesus pray more for me in constant and holy intercession at the right hand of God. My role in prayer is more of agreement with the mind of Jesus revealed in scripture than saying anything that I know he already knows.

 

To me the power of prayer has become the capacity to say “YES” to the will of God. In other words, it’s to willfully submit my self to the will of God as it is done in heaven while I am on earth. The moment I add a single word to the Lord’s Prayer, I feel so ridiculous as if I am adding an extra finger to a child already in the birth canal.

 

The Lord’s Prayer is a comprehensive prayer that covers all my wants and needs. The Lord’s Prayer was thought to men under their own request and recognition that they knew not how to pray, but they knew that there was more to prayer than what meet the eyes because they saw a singular man in John the Baptist and his disciples that they were extraordinarily different from any other because of Prayer.

Thus The Lord’s Prayer is a prayer taught by one who knows how to pray to God the Father the things he likes to hear from our lips and will certainly never go unanswered.

 

To pray our “original prayers” garnished with poetry, length, frequency, and eloquence is like thinking that our prayers have more iron in its content and enough powder to reach heaven than the prayers of the Son of God. “If your original prayers” have taken you anywhere in life ...then go ahead and keep on praying the way you do. “More power to you” I guess.

 

As for my house and me we struggle reaching the spirit of prayer more than with praying and prayer itself. For what is there in men’s prayers that will cause God to turn his head as if he might have forgotten to do and thanks to those prayers God will be persuaded to act in they favor? God is perfect and he has already spoken all we need to hear including prayer and the answer to prayer.

 

Just as there is no room in this vast universe for another will but the will of God, in the same way there is no room for our own version of “Faith based initiative prayers” before God. Remember that we are here to do “God’s will on earth as it is done in heaven” and not the other way around.

 

Since our boldness has brought us this far, we might as well go a little farther. Much of prayer is treating God as if he has not spoken or he does not exist. “It is time to re-affirm that to believe in prayer is more important that praying and Prayer itself”. What good is prayer if we do not believe in Prayer?

 

But if you believe in Prayer, then your feeble prayers are like that of the publican’s prayer that will go far enough, not because of its length but because of its faith. “Lord have mercy on me a sinner”.

 

Jesus said that “your yes should be yes and your no be no”. That whatever you add to that is sin. “In many words sin is not absent.” “In the abundance of words is the mouth of the fool”.

 

Now let us breathe and push a little harder. Could it be that prayer is what some godly men and women have found out through life time experiences of their own in the closet of their heart that... “Prayer is more like breaking through... like the women with the issue of blood that push her way toward Jesus and touch the hem of his garment?”

Who said that it takes time to do business with God? What takes time is to break through the crowds in agony, shame and fear. That which takes time is to pass the barrier of the Super apostles that like secret service agents jealously isolate people from God by making themselves so indispensable but unable to cure a lousy demon possessed boy, or a man with mental illness.

 

Come to God the Father himself, through Jesus who has broken the curtain of access to God. Come and pray the Lord’s Prayer and learn that he is and he does not need to speak back to you to every one of your prayers as if he has not already spoken all you need to hear and speak.

 

Make memory of Jesus in Gethsemane praying to the Father a very focused prayer and having no replay from the Father, because the need of Jesus was not an answer as if God the Father had not spoken already about the matter of Jesus’ prayer. Jesus had the answer to his prayer in his mind all of the time. But by going through this experience he left an inheritance to all believers not to treat God as if has not already spoken.

 

What most of us need is his silent answer impatience and love reminding us of what we already know. In matters of faith and practice it is not a matter of more information and words never spoken or heard but of what Jesus said in the great commission “Teach them to obey”. Our problem is a matter of obedience not of information or the so called “answer to prayer from God”.

 

There is a God and he has spoken and the canon is closed and the work of salvation has been consummated including how and what to pray. Let us repent by stopping to treat God as if he has not spoken or does not exist.

 

Your faith and trust in a child like manner will make the invisible God visible and the oneness with God in Jesus will empower you to unimaginable heights that living supernatural lives in the most natural way will be your contribution for the common good of the body.

PS. A professional witness who testifies with the mind of Jesus to our generation. Yesterday my doctor was so confident that he persuaded me to renew my lease to life and health. Thanks to your prayers and agreement with me before God in the name of Jesus. As a result I write this letter as my first thought of the day early in the morning and serve it to you for your consideration and edification.

 

Simeon is the Peace Child of my family. He had cranial surgery before age two.
