Gerry Gutierrez' Update

“Heal to serve, the law of reciprocity.”

June 24, 2018.

Sunday Coffee pick up by Gerry "G" Valdez for you.

If Jesus has touched you, you must touch others in the same need of a healing touch.

As beautiful as the healing touch of Jesus to the sick woman with fever was and the touching of each other to health is, what it should never be forgotten or go unnoticed is that the mother-in-law of Peter was touched in order to serve.

He who has been touched by Jesus, though he serves others, he is not a servant of anyone but Jesus. “When Jesus came into Peter‘s house he saw Peter‘s mother-in-law laying in bed with a fever, he touched her hand and the fever left her that she got up and began to wait on him. This is what is called “Heal to serve”.

It is easy to imagine the woman with the fever being like any other sick person staring at the ceiling. Their mind goes overdrive away from any distraction of activity without option but to think thoughts, looking upwards, looking toward God.

Some prefer their own sources of security and hold on for dear life their childhood blanket, while other adults prefer to think in their health policy, their doctors and nurses, their bank accounts and relationships.

But those of the household of Jesus are “under care” of Jesus.
How often people pray a prayer like this: “Dear Lord if you heal me from this sickness or if you get me out of this trouble I will serve you the rest of my life. Please give me another chance”.

They promise to be “under care” of Jesus but many times only to escape from the “undertaker”. They long to leave the hospital vertical and not horizontal. It is to them as the district attorney of Jesus on duty I remind them the words of the Psalm 66: 13-14. “I’ll come to your temple with burn offerings and fulfill my vows to you. Vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble.”

How often do we forget the “barefoot days”, the years of the “skinny cows”, the days of fever and pain and crisis?

Our Lord does not need a lawyer like me to claim his rights for service; neither does He need anyone defending his case against the faithless.

In honor to the truth I call as my star witness to one and all against themselves self to answer a question. Is it or is it not true that you have made vows to God in your days of trouble and need?

No need to answers, you have the right to remain silent, your words will be used as self-incrimination. Use you Miranda Rights or claim the Fifth Amendment.  Further more your Honor, the State drops all charges in exchange for a “second chance” with the one proviso that the defendant keeps his promises and vows from this day forward and I suggest your Honor to let him go to touch some one and serve Jesus.

I rest my case your Honor.
