Gerry Gutierrez' Update

Food for thought for your Sunday.

Jesus will never be without a witness.

Preferring Jesus

June 2, 2018

There was a time when Jesus went to the ballot to be chosen King and Lord and instead of casting our votes for him, we voted against him by saying “No, give us Barabbas”.” What about Jesus?”- Asked Pilot. “Crucify him!” said the voters.

Wicked men sought to prosecute Jesus and false witnesses came against Him, but the Law of the Land found Him innocent. Nevertheless the hands of those who had the power to set him free crucified Jesus.

How could this happen? You might ask. When authority is corrupt, the innocent is in bankrupt. When power is gone it is time to use the tongue. To silence the truth by the use of violence is natural.

Many believe that if you kill the dog the rabies is gone. Never the death of a sick person has put an end to sickness, death, and dying. Killing “the Che Guevara” from Argentina did not stop the revolutionary movement. Killing Bin Laden did not stop radical Islam. Killing Jesus did not stop the spread of Christianity. Killing the Christian did not stop the growth of the church. The blood of the Martyrs is the seed of the church.

In the realm of ideological warfare, violence is like a wind that spreads the fire faster. Jesus was voted down and killed and lifted up on the cross with a sign at the top of the cross that read for posterity “Jesus of Nazareth the King of the Jews”.

Jesus was lifted up in violence only to be looked at Him in hope at the crucified. At the death of Jesus, God in his own right put a sign over the living and the dead. “This is the condemnation, light came into the world, but men preferred darkness instead of Life because their deeds were evil”

Man preferred Barabbas instead of Jesus, people voted for Barabbas knowing him to be a lawbreaker and a criminal. Later all men will look to him who was lifted up, Jesus said: “If I am lifted up, I will draw all men unto myself.”

All men will look at Jesus, not only some men but all. To some Jesus will draw them into salvation and to the others He will draw to them to condemnation, but all will come to the cross of Jesus at Calvary only to be divided in front of the cross. Some will go to the left and some to the right without any other alternative. The parade in front of the cross continues throughout generations. Humanity is divided into two groups and two groups only. “Those who love and follow Jesus and those who do not love and follow Jesus.”

Every generation is casting their votes for or against Jesus, but in reality they are casting for or against their own destiny.

Please join me in this ever present election season by voting for Jesus to make King by prayer and reject the Barabbas’s of our time and repeat after Jesus “ Your Kingdom come, Your will be done”.

The desire for the Kingdom to come for some is a New World Order, but for us the believers, the Kingdom is not a Cause to follow or an Ideal to pursue. For us the believers, the Kingdom is a Person and that is Jesus, the King. He who is willing to die for a cause is a fool but he who is willing to die for a person is wise and has hope that no one can take it away from him. Jesus is Hope in the flesh.

King Jesus will not come unless we weep in desire for His return. We must persuade God in prayers of genuine longing and need for His return. He must be desired and wanted more than life itself. God loved Jacob but hated Esau, because Jacob needed him. God loves those who need him to death.

The casting of our votes for Jesus should be the casting of our destiny into His able hands alone. Pray as if you were casting yourself from the edge of the Universe not the dark unknown as in a temptation but at the prompting of his voice to come to his open arms. Jesus wants you to repeat after Him: “Your Kingdom Come.” Let us AGREE with Jesus all of us at once with a sounding “YES.”

This was a friendly reminder to vote for Jesus, by casting life into his hands.
